i like his idea to, but all of grays maps look crappy, they look like Ms paint
Yeah, getting a bit too off topic here.
I had something I wanted to propose to DiM, but we'll need start positions.
You basically have a big main play area of the map that's similar to normal risk and is distributed the same way (actually probably closer to Feudal in appearance). Then you also have secluded bases that each player gets 1 of. In these bases is a town hall with a small autodeploy representing builders or resources or something.
Anyway, the base builds things by destroying the neutrals covering the structures around it. Like they could build a barracks which gives +5 per turn. Or they could construct a market and get more autodeploy to build with.
If we had triggers it would be really cool though, we could have stables that give an extra movement space to all your territories (similar to waterloo's calvary) or something that gives your units in the main area a bombardment ability. Or the reverse, you could take strategic resources in the main area to unlock build paths to make neater structures.
That said, even without triggers we could make something interesting with this similar to the suggestion last page.

Warning: You may be reading a really old topic.

Ow! that hurts - but I think I've admitted elsewhere that any deficiency in the look of the maps is the fault of the user (me), not the package used (GIMP).
Anyway, I thought I'd see if the Legion idea had any support before trying to produce a half-way decent image for inclusion in a separate thread.
All advice, suggestions or help welcome.

eh maybe if u had 2 opposing armies??
Imperial Roman Legion
That's certainly a possibility - I'm sure I could research a battle involving 2 or 3 Legions per side and make the cohort the lowest level.bryguy wrote:grayhawke wrote:...

Another approach I was thinking of using was to present the map as a marching fort or camp.

with a sneak attack from another army??
Falklands War
I'm British and quite new to the game but I'd love to have a go at a Falklands War map that would be awesome.

No, the fort idea is to provide a structure and graphiical environment within which the organizational and command elements of the legion can be displayed.

Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.
