The Jets keep rolling, rallying for a crucial week 16 victory over Indy in Indy. CCN caught up with coach Ricrem following his team's latest triumpth.
CCN: Coach, thoughts on this week's huge win?
PR: Well as I told my guys prior to the game, this one was pretty much a playoff game, with the divsion still in doubt, and indy in good shape for the wild card, I told them we needed to lay it all out on the line this week and we did.
CCN: What was the key factor in this week's victory?
PR: Field position. They came out pretty quick (a win in quarter 1) but we were able to start short drives (got first drop on 4 of the 5 maps) and he wasn't really able to get those long bombs going (no spoils on wilt's home turf) which meant they were playing catch up most of the 2nd half.
CCN: Thoughts on the rest of the season?
PR: Gotta finish strong. I'm hoping this win may have clinched the division for us, I've never been that great with math, but even still, I don't want my guys entering the playoffs on a lull. Although I suppose if they're going to have to have a rough game, I'd prefer it to be next week as opposed to in January.

Standings and scoreboard updated to show current week 16 matchups.
still several week 14 and 15 games ongoing, but we should have a clearer picture by the end of the weekend. Good luck all, and the end of the regular season (week 17) will go out Tuesday morning.

I posted playoff brackets if the playoffs started today...please note that there are still plenty of teams fighting for a postseason spot and this bracket is far from final.
It's located under the standings and results near the front of the thread.
Standings and scoreboard will be updated tonight and Week 17 will be sent out as well.

Yes reptile..you beat the Rams 19-16, forcing the NFC West to go down to the final week of the season. You split the season series with each other, so tiebreakers will be in play...more posted on that later.

Playoff scenarios are posted at the start of the thread as best I can figure...the AFC is a bit convoluted with some teams still playing catchup.

A CCN newsbreak live from Giants Stadium where the Jets and Bengals are engaged in struggle which appears like overtime could be a possibility... More to come after the game!

Playoff brackets have been posted...I squeezed into the last spot with a heart-stopping 24-23 win over Kansas City in Week 17
Thanks to all who have played this season...I will try to keep on scoreboard updates every 24 hours during the playoffs, so feel free to check in on games as you like. I'll be running the NFL tourney again next year, so keep an eye out when August rolls around again.
Final standings will be posted over the next couple days once all games are finished.
Also a quick congratulations to dowian2, whose Green Bay Packers had the best regular season record at 14-2.

I've had several questions about homefield for the Super Bowl, so here's how the championship game will work...
1Q -- NFC team's field
2Q -- AFC team's field
3Q -- NFC team's field
4Q -- AFC team's field
Special Teams -- American Civil War (Missouri)

Coach Ricrem addresses the media from a podium with a beer in one hand.CCN: Uh are you allowed to do that?
PR: *hickup* It's the off season now, I can do what I want. What are they going to do? Fire me?
CCN: Thoughts on tonight's tough loss to the Broncos?
PR: Well Coach Flex and I are good friends, heck we even ran track at Oregon together, so I mean I'm happy for him. But at the same time of course I'm dismayed that his victory came at my team's expense. As far as the game went, I don't know if we didn't come out with enough intensity or what, but things seemed to go wrong from the start.
CCN: You're referring of course to the opening kick return for the TD?
PR: Yeah, special teams really let us down today. We'd been playing pretty well the last few weeks but this week we got burned (almost a clean sweep.) Overall his team just seemed sharper (first drop on 4 of the 5 maps) and although I tried to rally the guys at halftime (close 3rd quarter map, 4th quarter win) we just simply ran out of time.
CCN: Any closing thoughts on the season?
PR: It was a good year, certainly can't hang your head when you make the playoffs. Always fun to coach something different, although I'm sure my other current teams will be glad I can put more time into coaching them now

Bracket updated...only one wildcard game still ongoing Cincy vs. Indy.
Congrats to General Flashman and his Rams on a hard-fought 30-23 win over Washington (LucaV)
Our divisional matchups in the NFC are set with St. Louis traveling to Green Bay and New Orleans heading to Dallas...In the AFC...a pair of West Division rivals meet for a third time with Denver traveling to Kansas City, while Houston awaits the Bengals-Colts winner.

We have our first AFC Championship qualifier with Denver sliding past Kansas City in a tight 23-14 battle that came down to the final map...well done dfp2dep...definitely made me work to advance.
The Broncos won all three matchups on the year, but they were decided by a combined 11 points...would have been four points except for a Chiefs misdeploy that cost them a 14-0 4th quarter.
