i have one question. do you really think having only 20 countries is a good plan? especially if you consider the fact that if a person gets the white tower from the start, they are at a great advantage in terms of blocking off possible fort routes or just dominating the game from the start
I haven't put in all the army circles; there actually just under 40. I think it was 38. I would want more territories, but as it is, I think the circles are going to clutter things up.

There are plenty of modern city maps around too.
As for zombies, read the Suggestions & Bug Reports forum. There's a thread about zombie-neutrals there.

My updates are more common than comments
I have too much time on my hands, being on vacation and all.

this looks kinda cool. more territories would probably be good. maybe 42?
but how do you intend to get around the copyright?
and also, i'm surprised i'm the first one to say this, but it looks like a vagina.
i don't mean that to be offensive in any way.
but, c'mon, it looks like a vagina.

I am thinking of some way to add more territories. You're right, I would like 42.
No offense at the vagina comment. You're actually right, though I'd never thought of that before. Come to think of it, it IS run by a bunch of arrogant, often lesbian women. Somehow I don't think it's a mistake.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, that's hilarious!
i don't know anything about the series.
you know, there is an awful lot of space being wasted out by the towns.
you could do something with that.

If I add territories, I want to make it 3 more, which kind of throws off the symmetry. I suppose I could split one territory on the island (maybe the red continent?) then add something extra by the villages on each side.

Alright, I'm back to school starting today, so I won't have as much time to work on this. Updates will be rarer. Please take that time to make suggestions or to comment.

nice idea, but is going to need a lot of work with the graphics. is this a no-continent map?

I'm learning as I go with the graphics. They'll get better.
There are continents: several, in fact. Read the legend.

best way to learn how to do something well is by doing, so thats good. thats how i learned to use GIMP (though it is very easy to understand.)

hmm if your really worried about the bridges you could use "gates" or use ships...
but on the whole it's a very good idea.

I haven't worked on this in a looong time, and I won't until after India gets quenched probably. Which will likely be another long time.
But I do plan to return to this. And completely redo everything.

well if thats the case then you could take the pic of the entire map from the book and use that instead of just Tar Valon itself. It would be alot less cluttered.

Yeah, when I first started this, someone was also working on a map of all of Randland. I wanted to do something, so I decided on Tar Valon. You're right, I might as well do Randland first. If it goes well, maybe I'll make a series of WoT maps.

I'm just scanning the posts. I really like the map and loved the series. My question is more about the copyright problem.
Have you thought about how Robert Jordan's death is going to affect this? I know Jordan was pretty free with the licensing, but you might want to check out who owns the copyrights to the WoT series now. If it's TOR, what had been difficult might have become impossible.
Just an observation.

I was hoping it would probably just be Harriet, which would likely make it not such a big deal. We'll see.

yea but we are just shooting ideas right now. but i'm sure that they would not mind a few of his fans making something in appreciation of him..... i mean it's another way his story can live on.

I totally agree, especially if I can play it.

Appreciate on.

OMG I love the book of this it's great, about time some one made this map. You will have to make the art work well because in the book they have tons of pages just discribing the tower

i was scanning map ideas to see if someone else was doing a WoT map yet, and i think that a complete map of the WoT would be brilliant, but this has been started hasnt it? so may as well start small and see if you can get past the copy-right. My suggestion would be that the harbor chains be one-way attack from tar-valon.
But then again, i havent got to the book with the siege in it yet

oh well, read on!
but if you ask them to make the map as a testament to Robert Jordan they should have no problem. To be honest they wont really have any reason to say no if there is no money gained from it

This seems like a good idea, though it's too bad it's in the Scrap Heap. I hope it gets taken up again. I'm still searching other posts to see if anyone's doing a map of the original map found in the cover of the books (at least the first 6--that's as far as I've gotten and I'm still reading).
Any way, I hope this works out eventually, as well as maps of the other cities as well.
Just my thoughts,
Poocho
