Baldy hasnt join his games in a week so I win all 5 by forfeit. I have now dropped the games as I feel waiting a week was plenty of time for him to join.

I've given quite a few allowances on that rule in this tournament. I've only really applied it during the first 2 or 3 rounds. After that players have shown that they are dedicated to the tourney and will join the game. Things happen: crappy computer connections, small vacations, bad account-sitters, not being able to reach a computer, etc. I don't think that players should be penalized for situations that are beyond their control as long as they have proven that they really do want to play in the tourney, they don't abuse this privilege, and they aren't going to be gone toooo long. BaldAdonis has always joined games within the 48 hours and he is 1 game away from winning. I'm not going to make him forfeit for something that I have allowed other players to do.

If my calculations are correct, the tourney is over already as BaldAdonis win score is 50 or more...

He has 49; he hasn't played in round 13 yet.

Not wanting to make enemies but what is the point of having rules if they are broken?

Don't worry, no enemies here. It's just that the 48 hour rule is impractical in a tournament like this. It was good for the first few rounds because I could eliminate players that weren't going to stick around. After that, I would have needed about 20 reserves and would have kicked out players that geniunely wanted to play. I also would have had to put in reserves at a point where there was no chance that they could have won no matter how well they did.

I understand what your saying, dont get me wrong but its like your saying that the rules apply only to the first 3 rounds and after the third round you can join whenever, it may not be fair to replace him but its not fair to the others that might have been able to win as well(and I am not 1 of those players...lol).

I asked for the game numbers and password to rejoin the games.

I also allow 1 or 2 extra days even though I say 24 hours but I felt over a week was abused in this example. Sometime players notify me in advance of holidays/vacations/time off but nothing was communicated for this example. Anyway, it is his tourney. he makes the rules.

I'm just proud that I'm as close as I am to me....
