They are too big, I would say.

Love the new graphics style! It looks like a Nintendo J-RPG! Congrats on a stroke of pure genius.

Having said that, the castle is a little 'busy' and distracting to me. Perhaps taking out the crosshatch detail and just making it white or tan would help.

Also, have there always been so few territories? It is a pretty small map, but maybe this site needs a small map with different game play.

i suppose you right, probably engine could only support objectives like , take "this" and "that", something similar to fedual war map does.
But for experience i see that it's applicable only if there's an amount of players.
In a 2 players game i think that players try to terminate other much more than try to take objective, but in this map is possible include an objective in xml.
Not for 3 turns.
I try to know more about it. ;)

Bonuses are under discussion. :D
Please if you think that bonuses are wrong ( too up or too low ) tell us what you think they have to be ;)

No - holding an objective will win you the game if you hold it at the start of your turn. The game engine doesn't have a 'memory' to determine how long a territory/bonus has been held.

Thank you Mr.Benn
I sure that can't be done. 8-)
And i think feudal map it's the only that have this features now.
But about this what do you think about to include an objective in this map?

There are actually a number of maps that have an Objective / Victory Condition: http://chipv.freehostia.com/index.php?a ... +Condition

I don't think an objective is a bad thing, but you need to ensure that the objective should be more-or-less equally accessible to players regardless of the drop (balanced gameplay).

mmm... so we can start with all the inner fosse territories neutral (courts, bridges, castle and towers), and to win it's necessary to hold castle+towers for one turn.. what do you think?

well, meanwhile, i fixed the new map, with some little changes, and open a poll to decide if it's better the new castle or the older.

version 8.4

I don't think it is necessarily a bad idea as it stands, however you will then have all the players spawning across 25 territories. You risk it becoming a Doodle Earth game with no one bothering to even try for the middle territories.

I would suggest doing something like "Hold the Castle and the Towers" to win.

Other options could be
"Hold the castle and three (or two or one) towers to win"
"Hold the caste to win" and make the castle a LARGE neutral

Some ideas.

i made several test, and with a floor more stony it will be not clear..
i can change the pink walls to something more red, or any other colour. i will do some tests. ;)

so, i want to remember to you all, to vote thinking that each version are not fixed and i will improve the one that wins. ;)

infact, now i made the walls of version 8.4 more grey and less pink, and made darker the castle floor. now it's better, i think.

so, i give to everyone the possibility to change the vote, if i will make the right changes and then you will prefer the other version. ;)

I don't have any suggestions. Only that this map gets moved along. I can't see any way that this becomes any better...

I changed my vote to 8.4.I like the bridges much more, and castle is more realistic however it should be darken.

Btw, catapults and forests are from civ 2?

in my opinion, the 8.4's castle is better (maybe with some tweak), and the one in 8.1 it was drawn by myself, so in some sense i'm happy that people like it, but onestly i think that it's not so good for a CC map..

by the way, my experience on the foundry teach to me that a few days aren't indicative for a poll (remember that after the first week of the poll that ask if i must trash the map, 8 vote versus 3 said to trash it, but after 10 days, 16 vote versus 9 said to keep on working..), so i think that i keep the poll open for another week at least. ;)

Could you change the borders thickness to be the same for all areas?

i don't like the trees, they look to much like trees from a computer game, try making them more realistic, or finding a tree brush and using that, same goes with the rocks

what do you mean? maybe you mean that the courts have a line border more darker (plus the same neon effect) than the others borders?

and zeppleliner, i'm sorry but the graphic style is fixed. no realism. this map should have a graphic "like a computer game", so the trees and the rocks (and all the other things) will not looks like realistic things.

sorry guys.. i really don't understand why many people prefer the old castle version (8.1).. i had some little dubt about the new castle (8.4) but after the colour changes (thanx to beko the great) now i'm totally sure that the 8.4's castle is too better.
the one in 8.1 it was drawn by me and it isn't well done in my opinion, cause i'm not a game graphic designer.. moreover, the prospective is different (and not too accurate..) by the other objects of the map..

so, please, tell me why you don't like the castle in 8.4 and help me to improve it, cause i want to keep that castle and i wouldn't close the poll with the victory of the 8.1.

thanx!

those are the original colours and that is a castle of a rpg game..
the purple (walls) now it's more gray and more realistic, in my opinion. later i try to change the blue of the tower. ;)
