BOB can't make my laptop bigger, otherwise I'd be getting junk emails with titles like "fr33 b0b 4 ur c0mput3r"

That could be arranged!!!!

Maybe it's just me, but the legend makes so much more sense this way. Everything is as it should be. I suspect there will be more little tweaks to the gameplay - and this might be one of those maps in which you play it a few times before you realize how you could make it better - but overall I am satisfied.
Image

The one thing that bothers me a bit about the graphics right now is the way the image of the map is skewed on the table - it is off just enough to be obvious, but not enough to look intentional. Either skew it more so it looks like you meant it, or don't skew it at all.

well it's intentional in that Tel did that on purpose, but not intentional in that the person that put it there meant to have his file be straight.

But, as anyone who works in an office knows, paper-clipped stuff doesn't always stay neat.

thanks for the stamp!

I would like to see a candy-coated paperclip, maybe in the pretty red color that shows up in other parts of the map. If it stood out more, it would be obvious why the picture is crooked. Right now, I think "The picture is croooked. Why? Oh, there's a paperclip."

Just a thought,
LMR

an interesting thought laci

I'll pass it along to Tel. Though, I'm quite surprised at how much this paperclip looks like a real one.

What you need to know

1. This is an objective map. Four different ones that all include holding the main stash.
2. There are 24 starting territories. Everything starts neutral except the 8 patrol cars, the 4 corner bosses, the 4 runners, the 4 corner junkies, the 4 counters.
That's 4*4 + 8 = 16 + 8 = 24
3. There are 35 other territories that start out as neutral
4. Number of neutrals on those territories has yet to be determined. Proposed 2 on all with the exceptions of 4 on objective territories and 6 on Main Stash

Just done:

1. paperclip colour made red so it's more prominent.
2. stroke around boss and muscle changed. I think they're quite readable now.
3. large and small version

To do:

1. graphics stamp

Points of Discussion:

1. I guess Lanyards is out for a while so I need someone to do XML centering and to check my XML which I've already written. I think some gameplay changes have happened since then so those need fixing.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/9axsch

If you want to do the centering, that's the link above. Make a post so multiple people aren't working on it.

I'd stamp it, except for the "can attak." Suggest you fix the glaring typo right there. Otherwise, I think it looks great.

"Stick-Up man"? Is there not a more "gangster" name for this...

It just strikes me as being a touch not quite right!!

Otherwise spot on...

sweeeet. Now I guess we have to wait for Andy to forge this.

Oh. Still looking for someone to center my coordinates and check over the XML I've written!

edit: I thought the CAs put those on the thread title. As we're not allowed to put [] in our titles!

the name we have currently works. It tells what the guy does. He steals the stashes from the dealers. This is why he bombards the stash territories. He doesn't stay around after.

I think the support of this map is clear. It's been getting comments from many in the community.

time for FF

When you first had this idea, Edbeard...I was skeptical, but I think you may have won me over. Though I'm only a marginal fan of Objective maps, this one looks like I might enjoy it. :) Look forward to the final stretch.

Only thing I'd suggest is changing the far left car's color to white or maybe purple. Just for variety's sake. ;)

thanks Andy. I'll pass that suggestion along to Telvannia when we get to FF. (and the need to fix the 'can atack spelling error).

I'll ask again.

Anyone willing to center the army coordinates on the XML? It's already written. It just needs centering.

              Final Forge

---The Operation Drug War Map has reached the ‘Final Forge’ Stage. I've revived this thread from the pits of the Foundry Furnace (okay, maybe not) and have examined the contents. Nearly every major concern has been addressed. If there are any other current concerns, please make your voice heard. If after a reasonable amount of time there has not been any objection or protest, the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. As long as there is still discussion or posts that have yet to be commented on, the map will remain in Final Forge until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

Post questions and concerns if any.
