That could just be another perk of membership. It might also encourage more players to buy premium, which would be good for the site, overall.

That's not fair though. I understand that you need perks for membership to provide incentive, but that shouldn't affect your rank. All players should have an equal chance to reach a rank, regardless of whether they pay or not.
For one thing, new people are always joining, others leaving. If there were only a set number of folks involved in CC, this might be a decent idea. Now, the "reset" occurs whenever new folks come in.
Is it hard to get to the top and getting harder? Of course, that is the nature of competition. And it is the nature of competitors to constantly challange and improve.
No artificial helps are needed. Easier is NOT necessarily better.
He-- if you got to the top of the scoreboard, you should be able to archieve that position over and over again; if not, you shouldn't be there. I welcome the idea of a score reset-- would make the competitive edge on CC much sharper. Would give me a chance to catch up with poo
When did I realize I was God? Well, I was praying and I suddenly realized I was talking to myself. - Peter OToole
If you will get there, you will stay there... no difference. What this will do is make it LESS competetive. It will just artifically reduce the score of people who have worked hard to get where they are, to satisfy a those who don't want to be bothered to spend to the time to get up there themselves.
There already is a "reset". It is called "losing". When you can prove that those at the top have somehow cheated -- as in CHEATED, no just made use of the system, skill to get there ... then I will say a reset is valid. Else, you are basically spouting "sour grapes".

With the current scoring system you achieve that with every single game you play though.

For once I agree with this guy, but for this idea to work you really need the two scoreboards option and hey maybe I'll become a major or something Nice idea!

what happened to the "search is your friend, dont make a new thread just post in the old one" you are always on about?
I don't think I ever posted in here, but I voted, so, here's what I think. imagine a cook being bumped back to 1000 points every year. they are just going to lose them to somebody who knows what they are doing in a few months, and we'll be back where we started. it will be fruitless.
In a 2 table system, would we end up with "tdans loses 22 points in the overall table and 20 points in the yearly table Mr_adams loses 24 points in the overall tble and 19 points in the yearly table" at the end of each game?
folowed by something like "Owenator gains 46 points in the over all table and 39 in the yearly table"?

Could the "6 month board" be simply a delta of the player's current score and their score at the beginning of the 6 months?
