as i said, this was a preliminary drawing just to see it it was worth putting my time into, and with the response so far i am thinking it might be, still would appreciate more feedback though.

It's hard to explain how I'd want to see this without drawing something myself. Anyway, I'd like to see something where you have circles on the field for where each player would be and then a bonus for holding a team, and maybe smaller bonuses for holding say, the goalie and both guards, or the forward and the other offensive positions. Sort of like a World 2.1 thing where you get smaller bonuses for potions of the continents and then a set larger bonus for the whole thing.

Beyond that I think it would be good to have all the stands well divided, maybe 3 rows deep and 6 total for the west and east side and 9 total for the north and south.

If that doesn't make sense I could maybe do a sketch.

i understand what you mean, and i did think about something along those lines to begin with, i will look further into making the map like that, however i was hoping to make a smaller map rather than one on the scale of world 2.1

Yeah, I was just using World 2.1 as an example because of their bonus system and I felt it would be a good idea for the teams. I don't want to see this at that scale either. I think the players would be more interesting then just sections of the field though. But that's just my opinion.

I'd see this map as being 30 or so in the stands and then however many players in the field. Maybe a little more or less.

i suppose making a total of 48 spaces for the board would allow for that to happen but still be good for gameplay - i will start on a new map shortly. :)

Sword of Truth World...

So i've decided to do a sword of truth map-those who have read the series will know these are great books-this map comes from those books written by Terry Goodkind...

...i will stress this is a quick and VERY ROUGHLY done map, created in paint... :o  ...but nevertheless, i will explain it a bit...

...D'Hara, on the eastern side of the map is a very large kingdom which would be worth about six armies and will be made up of about seven or eight territories-three of them boarder territories...

...the midlands will be comprised of the six main nations from the novel and each nation will be made of two to five territories...each nation will have a bonus between one and four... the 'UN' like city of Aydindril-north eastern midlands...will be an additional bonus of one for holding it...and there will be a bonus of five armies per turn for holding the entire midlands...

...the wilds will be comprised of about ten territories...no bonuses...just the usual plus one for every three territories u hold...because the wilds are just territories of savages and 'un-settled peoples"...

...finally...the westland...is another large but realitively unpopulated country of four main territories and a plus of only two armies per turn...

,,,So tell me what u guys think...

I was about to suggest having players on the field in positions for bonuses...i totally agree with this...

and youd have to have a big bonus for holding one team and then holding the opposing goal...like scoring a goal.

like that idea, will most definately add it.

Instead of doing right defender/left midfielder/etc. i will do areas of the pitch such as left wing and goal, easier to fit on as i dont want 22 spaces on the main field with how many there are going to be in the stands.

http://profile.imageshack.us/user/bavar ... utheg8.png ... click there to see the ROUGH copy of the map and of course tell me what u think...i will upload a better picture soon...

...ow in the bottom right corner of the map, those black spots and purple fuzz is used to represent the "magic barrior"...which could make sense if u had read the the books...nevertheless, think of it as a 'Great Wall of China'...seperating this world from the Old World which is off the map...

if you want people to be interested in the map, DO NOT make a 5 minute example on MS paint.

take the time to make it at least slightly good looking so we can understand what the map is going to be.

I like this idea, I have the books (all of them) and I have a pretty good image of the landscape. Perhaps, if you'd like, I could help you out in anything that you need done. Otherwise, good luck, and hope it turns out well!

Why not... Even though I've never really read it.
