Obama is not a Marxist. He does subscribe to the anti-colonialist ideology from his father. Personally, I think he's a socialist. He (and the Democrats) are willing to work within the framework of radically changing America through the ballot box.

Being right too early always has been and probably always will be politically and socially unpopular. Nobody wants to hear the bad news while it can be ignored, hear about how the banks are about to fail if we don't do something, or hear about how real estate or tech stocks are in an unsustainable bubble, hear about how we are going to get our credit rating downgraded if we continue to spend more than we have and live beyond our means, or hear about how Ron Paul was right, or even about how Obama, in retrospect, was indeed a 21st century Socialist.
