Welcome kierkegaard_2 to the tournament...he will be taking over an open spot for Amherst.

I sent out fresh maps hoping to get everyone through Game One...Cairo-Santiago will get their next batch sometime Saturday.

Also, I'll be starting Game 2s over the weekend, so if you want to make any changes to your lineups get those in soon (next 24 hours).

good luck, and now after a busy week with work and my wife getting through surgery (not life threatening), I should be able to get back up to speed on this tourney, so maps will be coming on a consistent basis the rest of the way.

Hi all...my wife had knee surgery late last week, so I've been swamped all this week between work and keeping the family going :) Hoping to catch up on all my tourneys over the weekend.

Working on updates for Game 2s throughout the day...should have fresh boxes and standings posted late tonight.

Some of you have received new maps already this morning...and I'll be getting more out as the day goes on :)

wow, updates were a long time coming for this tourney...sorry all.

A couple of my other tourneys have wrapped up, so I'll be focusing in on this for more regular updating.

The standings and boxscores are updated...Game 2s are below the standings, while Game 1 boxes are below that.

The USA division is up to date in the Game 2 set, and I'll be working on the international side of things tonight.

all Game 2 boxes are now updated...working through open games and getting out new maps for most of the international side along with Charleston vs. Jenks...that should all come together by Friday morning at the latest.

Monterrey and Kingston
Santiago and Brisbane

are still waiting for their next batch of games...I'm giving some open players another 24 hours to join up their games, then will go to the reserve list and get those matches going again.

gymnastQT tops the reserves list.

Boxscores are updated, and standings are fresh through all Game 1 finals.

I'll be sending out a few more maps tonight with most players getting another set by the weekend, as Game 2s begin to enter the late innings.

Also, a new policy on joining games. I will gave players 48 hours from the time games are sent out...failure to join will result in a strikeout (batters) or giving up a single (pitchers). Of course, if you are out of town you can give me a heads up and I'll work around vacations and other such things.

thanks, flex

Scoring question:

You said that the double play is the traditional 2nd & 1st variety, so that means if a batter is currently on third, he stays, correct?

correct

I'm afraid lostatlimbo didn't give all the info. In this situation, we have a runner on 3rd, with 1st and 2nd empty. In this case, both runners are out, correct? (It looks like there are 2 more outs after this, so the run wouldn't score anyway.)

yes, that would be right monkey

Seems kind of odd in the context of real baseball. An unforced runner wouldn't make for home base on a ground out, but I guess in context of the tournament it makes sense.

PS - I'm not completely dead in Tamriel yet. :)

Could have been a failed squeeze play. Or a liner to the third baseman on a hit-and-run. ;)

That works!

Well, I did manage a miraculous comeback in Tamriel, but not soon enough - will still start out the 4th with a sac fly.

Really sucking in this tournament so far.

The boxes that have changed significantly over the last few days have been updated...more games coming out over the weekend. Another few replacements have been brought in for stalled games, but from here out deadbeat players will need to be immediately replaced or they will cost their team penalties.

Failure to join within 48 hours will results in a strikeout (for a missing batter) or in giving up a single (missing pitcher).

thanks, flex

Some boxes have been updated through games I checked last night...I'll try to get another update up soon (next 48 hours), including some fresh standings as Game 2s begin to wrap-up...one final Tyler 13, San Diego 0

I'd like to petition for 7-inning games. This has absolutely nothing to do with the triple & double I would have if this game were extended... O:)

Standings and boxscores have been updated...Game 3s will start shortly...still some open maps in the Game 2 set...so join up quickly. I've tried to keep things moving with reminder invites and such.

So far Tyler, Kingston and Berlin are off to 2-0 starts, while Santo Domingo is 0-2 losing its first two games by a total of only three runs...ouch.
