Hi. I didn't follow this game, but I just skimmed the end scene and the player list and I was wondering... how was this game in any way balanced? :?

Sierra, the first two roles to die were the scum's most powerful. I couldn't believe it when that happened, Ink just randomly chose the godfather to kill, I understand. I'm just glad I chose to include a mafia usurper, otherwise the scum would have almost certainly lost.

ga7, stop spreading your lies in my patch! You're just mad I ruin every single game you and I are in together!

Well it looks like I'm back for awhile, things were going so well too.
I can confirm that I attempted to recruit InkL0sed on the night I died, I suppose it's possible I was killed by someone else, but I have a role where I play a guessing game with MM if I choose scum, if I lose I die, but this doesn't apply to townies. At my death scene he PMed me I guessed wrong, so I died, essentially saying Ink is scum.
Also I have a feeling there is a good chance there is only one scum left....

For the record, / got that part of his role wrong. The number thing applied to everyone, including townies. Without it, his role was too powerful. / tried to recruit Ink - part of the town , but died as a result of picking the wrong number.

I'm not sure why / said this, I remember putting in his role PM that the numbers aplied to every role, maybe he thought he was using a normal recruiter role instead of this version.

Ah wow that's a pretty major mistake from / then.. luckily we'd basically won after day 2 anyway. I still have no idea why talapus and adams would claim survivor and play the way they did though

Edit: Also cheers for another throughly enjoyable game MM :)

Roles!

1) william - God (Invincible Resurrector)
Immune to death in every form, could ressurect Jesus 3 days after his death.

2) / - Jesus (Recruting Mason)
Could recruit one person a night to join the disciples, as long as they were town and that the number he chose was within 5 of the number of the player on my list. If number is more than 5 away, or they are scum, he dies. After resurrection, he could pass on his power to a disciple.

3) spurgistan/ The Weird One - Noah (Ark Driver)
Basically a bus driver, he could switch two people every night. Clever me using the ark as the bus' substitute huh?

4) Neoteny - Moses (Watcher)

5) InkL0sed - David (Day Vigilante)
Could kill one person a day.

6) Lord voldemort - Joseph (Bulletproof Townie)
His "coat of many colours" could protect him from being killed by any means other than a lynching. It's bulletproof! Clever me again!

7) Anarkistsdream - Matthew (Gospel Mason)

8.) animorpherv1 - Mark (Gospel Mason)

9) firth4eva - Luke (Gospel Mason)

10) LSU Toger Josh - John (Gospel Mason)

These 4 were the initial disciples - The 4 Gospels - and could converse during night phases, aswell as anyone successfully recruited by Jesus.

11) dustn64 - Satan (Mafia Godfather)
Normal godfather abilites, but could only be killed by God, Jesus or David. (Now do you see how lucky the town were?)

12) fireedud - Judas (Traitor)

Starts off as town, but could send in the name of the person playing Jesus to kill him. After that he would turn to the scum side. He never got the chance to use this ablility, so he switched sides after Jesus' death anyway.

13) cmckinney - Cain (Mafia Assassin)
Starts off as a mafia goon, but if he found out the identity of his brother Abel, and sent in his name, he would gain a "one-kill-per-day" ability.

14) Kernal Kronic - Hitler (Mafia Usurper)
I racked my brains thinking of another biblical villian, but I couldn't remember any others. So I took the South Park route, and switched Mr Hussain with Mr Hitler, as Satan's bitch. He would gain the godfather's abilities if Satan died, which he did.

15) sam_levi_11 - Abel (Priest)
Couldn't drop the hammer on a lynch. He was the priest whose door was fused shut by the time traveller.

16) lightningbrain/ Balsiefen/ mr. incrediball - Mary (Beloved Princess)
Funny how this role attracted the most people who needed replacing.

17) mr. incrediball - Job (Lightning Rod)
Another ingenius matching of mine between a mafia role and an uncannily similar figure in the Bible.

18.) icedagger - Elijah (Cop)

19) Mr Adams - Adam (Lover)

This was a spooky coincidence. I suspect divine intervention!

20) Talapus - Eve (Lover)

21) borox0/ ace1217 - The Good Thief (Thief)

This was the role that wormed his way into many of the early night scenes of the game.

22) Skoffin - The Time Travelling Inventor (Survivor/Roleblocker)
Not, as some of you suspected, Tom Baker's Doctor Who, but an entirely new character from the bowels of my mind, and the narrator of the story. I just added some DW references as they fitted well with the scenes.

So as you can see, the game was not unbalanced. The mafia effectively had two godfathers and could've had 3 killing roles throughout the game. It was an extreme case of luck - read: DIVINE INTERVENTION - that two were taken out right at the start. Also, Jesus' recruiting game had a fair bit of chance involved to spice things up.

So that's it! Hope you had fun, and I'll see you next time!

Meh, that's how I understood it, it's ok if I quote my role now, right?
part of my PM;
"To recruit others, you may PM me the name of one player every night and if he is Good, he will join you to become a disciple."
I sent this back
"If I attempt to recruit scum, do I die? (or any other bad thing I should know about)
also do the people I recruit instantly learn my identity and who the other masons are?"
The reply
"Officially, you do die. However, I'm changing it for this game only.
To make it more interesting, you PM the name of the person aswell as a number between 1 and 22.
If that number is within 5 of the number of that person on my list, you live. If not, you die.
Makes it more Risk-esqe."

I just assumed you were replying to the specific question I was asking, but yeah, I suppose it's a good variation, since I had so many partners anyways.
Thanks for the game.

Thats what was in my pm, I just guess MM forgot. I was supposed to target "The Beast" since im the only one that can kill him(we all know who he is). If I guess wrong the town lose.

LSU, neither of those roles had killing powers, so how would that've worked? I included David because:
A) He was a killing role +
B) He was a direct ancestor of Jesus himself

william, the fact that Satan could've only been killed by 3 players was known by me alone. It was a secret condition.

NO!

If he had had a lighting bolt-style killing role, that would've been unbalanced.
He was just unkillable, and could bring Jesus back in the game for one day phase. (/ would've died again had the game carried on for one more night.)
So how is that unfair? Do explain.

Because I can claim God on Day 1 and if they try to lynch me, I don't die, so that's one confirmed town player. Even barring that, the game's still unbalanced because you have 4 masons and a recruiter, and even though he's limited, he can still get about half the town in a mason group if it lands right. Even if the scum group gets 3 killers, it's still easy to figure out who they are. By the end of it all, their tremendous power is moot because of God. And let's not forget that Hitler's role is hard enough as it is, being usurper and all, but the fact that he has to get Satan killed and his ability to die is limited, his role is hell (Pun intended) and makes it worse for the rest of the group.

Not necessarily. You could just be bulletproof.

There's your key word right there: If. The chance of a recrutiment each time was about 50/50.

How is it easy to figure out who they are? The Bible has tons of characters to choose appropriate claims from, K.K came up with a great example of Jonah as a hider. And I think of the usurper as more of a "back-up" godfather role than a backstabber one.

David was a vigilante true. David did not fight the devil and kill him in the Bible. God is the only one that really overcame the Devil. A more realistic scenario would've been to have just a diety being able to kill the devil and vice versa. David would've killed ANYONE he targeted other then God so him being able to kill Satan wasn't "that shocking" as much as a no shit sherlock vigilantes kill their targets.

And now you see my conumdrum. Giving God and/or Jesus killing powers would've made them even more powerful than they already were.
