Re: What video/computer game are you currently playing?
Seem to have hit a glitch in the Mass Effect 3 store. I have unlocked all the characters and upgraded all the rare weapons to level 10. But the ultra rare weapons (they have the N7 label), well, the highest one I have is at level 4. And whenever I get an Arsenal Pack (best one to get weapons) or Premium Spectre Pack (best one to get ultra rare items), I get ammo mods. And I still have yet to unlock a couple of weapons.
Though I did do a Platinum run with 3 Juggernaughts and me being the Drell Infiltrator. They tank the things, and I set up the Recon Mine to keep them from being swarmed. Worked pretty well.

Re: What video/computer game are you currently playing?
Just finished what may be my last play through of ME3 (being sick for the last couple of weeks, I have some time to kill). A really good game, the battle mechanics are a step above any other shooter I have played, 2 of 3 of the single player DLC are really well done (Leviathon and Citadel), and overall, a great game. The endings are still not quite what I wanted, but compared to the original endings, are much better. The characters are pretty awesome and diverse, the powers are unique and can combine for devastating combos, the weapons each serve a purpose and are quite varied (even amongst same classification, like many varieties of assault rifles), and the overall storyline is incredible.

Re: What video/computer game are you currently playing?
So a friend of mine is out of the country for the summer and was generous enough to let me borrow his PS3. He's got a whole library of games I hadn't been able to play up until now, like Uncharted and stuff. Earlier last month, I was short on time but wanted to play. I saw he had an older version of Madden, which he picked up for a few bucks and never actually played himself. I figured "Madden's pretty noncommittal, I can play that for a bit, right?"
Next thing I know I'm playing Madden for hours on end. I'm simulating season after season and assuring myself that this next game will be the last one, but it never is. I lose sleep and don't do important things, like laundry and updating my resume. Jim Nantz and Phil Simms haunt my thoughts with their banal commentary made more generic to fit the broad range of possibilities.
I start hate myself for getting caught up in this mess. The game isn't even good. Players are flailing at the slightest touch. The game forgets that interceptions happened, and skips downs constantly. The turf at the Metrodome clips for an entire match. Why am I still playing this garbage? But I can't pull away. I get sucked deeper and deeper and spend all my free time in this vortex of football and loading screens.
I confide in another friend of mine during a regular lunch together. He thinks the game is cursed. He might be right. Coupled with the Playstation turning itself on when the HDMI channel comes up doesn't hurt his case, nor does the console changing the channel back of its own accord. Come to think of it, my 360 stopped reading discs shortly after I hooked up the PS3. And Mincraft keeps changing the default settings in an attempt to make it unplayable. This $3 game is not just a game. It's a containment cell for some horrid demon wanting to steal my soul. I am concerned for my own agency. My greatest fear is that I will wake up with an obnoxious combover and a penchant for dull but stingingly douchey commentary.
Until finally it stops. I get pissed at a match and turn off the console, later realizing I had forgotten to save. It's the perfect out. I'd quit ANY game over lost progress like that. The chains are broken I'm free.
Tonight, I decide to play another game on the Playstation. I haven't decided yet, but I know I want Madden to be nowhere near it. I touch the eject button on the PS3, case in hand to seal the demon away. But no disc comes. What the f*ck. I press it again. Nothing. What the f*ck. Now I'm panicking. This isn't my console, but it's determined to keep me its slave. Fortunately, the system has a failsafe built in for disc removal, but I'm terrified of what might happen if I try to play another game, whether it be damage to disc or console or to unleash some other eldritch abomination. I sit here now at a gaming crossroads, waiting for an urge to strike me to revisit an old friend or start anew. All the while it sits and waits, watching me, waiting for me to succumb to temptation. Just a quick game. It won't do any harm...

Still playing Morrowind. =)
I've been enjoying Ravenmark, too. I like the paper-rock-scissors gameplay of archers-shields-spears-cavalry, and there's some good strategeryto be had.

10/10 been there, done that, can relate. I actually did something similar for an older Madden game years ago, and I don't even like football.

In all honesty? The Pokemon games. Red, Blue, Yellow, and Crystal. The first two are the oldest, and can be quite pricey with new games, but decently priced if used. And you can honestly spend quite a long time on each of those.

Hell yeah. My emulator is almost exclusively filled with Pokemon games. Looking for something new now though (although the emulator site I used to download from appears to have been made to take down all its Nintendo content).

Gameboy Advance games:
Mother 3 (aka Earthbound 3)
Metroid Zero Mission (an amazing game - I wish they'd do this for more old titles)
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis
Metroid Fusion
A Link to the Past
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (not as good as FFT, though)

I didn't realize it, but the makers of Ravensmark envision the game as a spiritual success to Advance Wars. There's a multiplayer Ravensmark, too, Ravensmark: Mercenaries.

If you're enjoying Advance Wars, you might give the Fire Emblem games a go. They're pretty similar, but they're swords and sorcery instead of modern military.

Re: What video/computer game are you currently playing?
Just a heads up about Dragon Age Inquisition. While the single player part is pretty good, the multiplayer is lackluster, especially compared to ME3 multiplayer. The fighting a dragon part is cool, but that's about it. It's not terrible, but, it just doesn't quite stack up very well. And having to craft your own weapons is even more tedious than unlocking them in the ME multiplayer.
