Did you mean "Abre los Ojos"?

It's not that, but it is a Spanish film.

Ok let's recap...
Mira Victor, Madrid

It's a Spanish film (but has been on general release both in Europe & the States).
It's not Abre Los Ojos, but like that film (& it's American remake Vanilla Sky) it stars Penelope Cruz.

Either the original Spanish title or the English title will do.
C'mon someone out there must have a clue, anyone?...anywhere?...

Don't think Penelope Cruz was in that, besides I'm looking for a Spanish language film, not an American film with Spanish dialogue in it.

Keep guessing though.

The Devil's Backbone?

Ooh, good guess, getting closer. It's not the right answer, but the guy that produced the above film, wrote & directed this film.

Before I met you, I could look up at the sun, the stars, the moon. Now I have to look down so I don't get dog shit on my chair, or crack my skull on the kerb. And you condemned me to it

Belle Epoque??

I think that was a different filmmaker, though...

...But similar themes-- and Penelope Cruz.

No sorry.

The "chair" in quote 3 refers to a wheelchair (for those who hadn't already worked it out).

Any more clues or would you prefer another quote from the film?

Sorry, I think I may be confusing some of you, what I should have said is "co-produced the above film" i.e alongside Guillermo Del Toro.

Oh... and Gattaca is not Spanish and doesn't have Penelope Cruz in it.

...I think I know what it is though. Let me keep thinking of the name. Does this film have a swimming pool in it?
