Jon will be resurrected by Mel but the process will drain the last of her life force. Jon will be released from his oath but insist on seeing it through until he has beheaded King Night. Than he'll March south to reclaim Winter fell from the Bolton and eventually March on Kingslanding to take out the Lannisters.

I liked all the scenes individually only problem was put all together they felt a bit like filler which was the problem last season.

He's not going to march on King's Landing. He'll march on Winterfell and then go back to the wall to fight the whitewalkers and wights.

Iirc, in Martin's original proposal for the books, he had Jon and Dany hooking up at the end.

Kind of had that feeling, but that'll only happen when miss Mother of Dragons gets off her ass and actually gets to Westeros. Instead of pissing off half the cities and peoples in Essos.

Though, at least compared to delusional dad Aerys who married his sister, she would only be marrying her, cousin? Nephew? Something like that.

It depends on if George sticks with a decades old plan. Plus, I get the feeling that the show might come to influence the books at this point.

But yes, she needs to get her ass in gear.

Where did you hear that? Seems kind of odd a writer would spoil a series ending years in advance.

This is kinda easy to find on various sites, but basically when he pitched the series to publishers he wrote a three page letter outlining what would happen. Obviously plenty of stuff changed, but:

And I didn't remember correctly it was Jon and Arya.

Never knew :o
But anyway, as you said, doesn't matter since so much has changed and more is bound to change. He is after all a discovery writer.

OR Jon and Dany. Either way they're both probably his cousins (one maybe half sister) (okay maybe Dany would be his Aunt). R+L=J.

Well, cousin weddings were historical fact at one point. So there is that. And it is a step up from sibling stuff at least.

Or Arya facelessly disguised as Dany?

Martin has a sequel planned. It's just Jon in therapy. Six books, already optioned. Woody Allen is directing.

He'd probably need 6 books worth of therapy.

Am I the only one who isn't super excited about the entire White Walkers subplot? Which I guess is the end game for the series anyway

The show was at its peak during the War of the 5 Kings. We had a lot of personalities, factions, etc all interacting and betraying and whatnot, which gave the show life and excitement

Now all we have is the terrible Lannisters vs Dorne story, Dany still doing f*ck all in the desert and Jon being dead but soonto be brought back to life. I do like Arya's assassin Buddhist story line, but other than that it's really became tame I think

I don't know- I thought Hardhome was one of the best episodes last season, if not the best.

The Dorne stuff, true is nonsense. Winter is coming, my arse. It really doesn't fit. I could also live without the Sparrows.

Sad thing is? I've read crossover fanfictions that have actually finished the series in a satisfying way.

Oddly enough, many of those are crossovers with Skyrim. Cuts Dany's time in Essos down significantly, turns Arya in an assassin, Tywin tries to link his family to the Dragonborn's....
Keeps in line with both, and actually finishes the series. And has a climactic battle at the end.

And irony of ironies, there's even one called "Sean Bean saves Westeros". Haven't read it, but all things considered, I guess he already died, so he doesn't have to again?

Right now, there's actually a crossover of GOT and Lord of the Rings, where the Lannisters and their lands/people get dropped into Middle Earth. Yes, several things change. Like Sandor Clegane finding a place amongst Hobbits. Tyrion being sent as an envoy to Mordor. And so on. Pretty well written, actually.

Sorry about the tangent. Just that it's sad that amateur writers (some of which are actually decent) can actually finish a series, or at least make more progress, than the original author has.

I agree with sym... wtf with the sparrows. I'm sure you guys can explain... but how on earth could the sparrows be so powerful in kings landing? sure, cersei gave them a lot of power, but it's the kind of power you can easily strip the person in place... just like she stripped the previous grand septon from his powers because she felt like it...
I just doesn't make any sense.

I understand that the tyrells are powerless against the sparrows, but the lannisters????? no fucking way.

Well if you've seen the second trailer for this season of GOT you already know what is about to happen.

from my understanding: King's Landing has a very large poor sector and a lot of them hate the monarchy (Cersei and Joffrey were cunts) and turned to religion for help. The Sparrows have the backing of a lot of the city, so the Lannisters weren't able to start a large anti-Sparrow coup

I like the Sparrow subplot because it illustrates a Cersei plot that backfired straight into her face. Yeah, she was able to imprison Margery, but Cersei got porked herself. Now she created a unstable monster.

That's not the only problem. According to the books Lord Tyrell was in Braavos, Loras Tyrell got severely injured after the battle at Dragonstone, Willas Tyrell is a criple, and lord Tarly is up and trying to control the mess in the Riverlands. Lord Kevan Lannister(now dead) refused to come down to King's Landing out of protests against Cersei, Jaime Lannister wasn't present in King's Landing and Lancel Lannister(son of Sir Kevan) joined the sparrows. Simply put there was no military leader to stop the sparrows. With Jaime back however that ought to change.

That in combination with the fact that their armies are spread out to control the Riverlands and that the Iron Islanders are raiding up the Mander-river in the Reach(Tyrell land) has hampered their abilities to fight.
