Trust me to throw this into the mix being an Englishman, but although I appreciate how poor England's performance was, the momentum from drawing level 2-2 could have proved pivotal and would most likely have swung the game in England's favour. Regardless, these kinds of decision don't really need to happen. In his interview, Frank Lampard states that had the goal been rightfully given, it would have affected the teams totally.
It's just not necessary that a goal as blatent as Frank Lampard's should have been disallowed. It
was a goal, and
would have changed the game, not just because the teams would have gone in 2-2 at half time.

couldn't agree more. our top players never made an impact and the Germans beat us with style. the disallowed goal would of made a difference to the out come to the game. we would old lost 4 2

Great day of footy!
England v Germany was one of the best games of the world cup so far, great drama in the first half, and england getting pumped out in the second

Too any england fans complaining, you didn't deserve to go through you were pish from the first game to the last. Group "EASY" and you only managed second and then Germany totally outclassed you for 75 minutes.
Tevez second goal was a belter and Mexico's goal wasnae bad, can't wait for Argentina vs Germany it's gonna be a belter!

"Great drama"... ahem.

Congrats on your victory, Argentina will certainly put you to the test in the next round!

Edit: I just realised you're actually from the UK.

I thought we had a proper German on this topic!

The better teams won today.
And I say that as someone who was cheering for the eventual losers in both matches.

That, I am. In general, I'd much rather see the better team win, because better teams make for better games in later rounds.

Not necessarily.
I enjoy watching underdogs do well, though they might not actually be "better".

3-1 if robben starts, if robben substitutes, it will only be a 2-1

Either way, they'll probably win.

Will Netherlands v. Slovakia be worth watching? Who's the underdog? I'm just going to root for every underdog team in every match from here on out.
I hate to admit it, but I've really lost interest now that the USA has been knocked out.
