Me likes... the top Samurai might still be a little big... but maybe not. Anyway I like it, really looking forward to this map.

Eeek! Mountains are pyramids now? ;) there's got to be a few better images out there, look into them.

I think it's starting to come together more. One nit picky thing, perhaps making your name slightly smaller would look a little more polished. (though I don't mean choosing a size to hide it, but something less out there).

Hmm... I liked the mountains, but if the general concensus is that they aren't that good then I'll change them. (The mountains in the Africa map are pyramids aren't they? ;))

I'll play around with the name to make it stand out <edit> less </edit> lol :), the XML is being worked on, and the shades of red has been lightened just for grim. :)

Just one question. Does it really affect anything if in the large version, the sea colour is slightly different? I lost the original colour by accidently merging the sea colour and textures and it may look considerably different.

Done the XML for the small version, the large version is being worked on now.

Just need to know about the mountains. I'd rather not change them, it makes it look more like that slightly hand drawn map look I'm trying to accomplish here, but will change them if I really have to ;)

To be honest I myself can't wait to play this myself, I want to play my map so bad :)

I don't have anything against the mountains, personally. The current map is mechanically equivalent to the previous one, right?

Yup, I made the ammendmants you suggested about the green continent. Is the way I've changed it ok?

I'm having trouble finding any old versions of the image to compare it to, but let's give it a final nit-picking analysis...

It looks like there's still a four-corner issue between Niigata, Fukushima, Gunma, and Tochigi.

The label for Wakayama could be a little closer to the country itself, since the Tokoshima label looks almost like it belongs to Wakayama. Letting it overlap the dotted connection would probably be OK.

Also, I'm not quite sure why Kyushu is a four instead of a three.

But aside from those minor things, it looks great. Did you intentionally order the continents in the legend top-to-bottom right-to-left? If so: very clever.

I've changed the four corner issue, is that not showing up on the map?

Niigata should border Tochigi and Fukushima and Gunma no longer border each other.

I'll change the position of the Wakayama label.

The 4 for Kyushu was a typo

And yes, I did order the legend like that, I've seen somewhere that people have said that it adds a certain touch to it or something pernickety like that ;).

Not much to add, just to say that I like the mountains.

Aha, it looks like the fixed version was at the same URL as the old one, so I just needed to force my browser to reload it. (Why does this feel awfully familiar, but in reverse?)

Heh, well, all of those changes have been put in place, I'll upload the newest version for you.

I'm currently working on the large version, I think the small version is finished now. But I'll have to wait for Andy's approval ;)

In Firefox, I right-clicked and chose "View Image". Then I hit the reload button.

I wouldn't go as far as one of the best, but thanks for the compliment :)

Hm well lets see..

---If you like the mountains nearly as they are, perhaps look into not having the same picture copied x amount of times, you know? Give it perhaps a more dynamic feel.

---Also are the bonuses in the legend the ones you are currently going with?

Edit: In addition, is there a way to perhaps fade the compass, so it matches the black in both Samurai? I think it would feel like it's more part of the background then, and not simply drawn over it.

Edit 2: I'd say experiment with sizes.

Ok, I see where you're coming from with the mountains, I'll see what I can do.

The bonuses are what they are on the map, apart from Kyushu, which was a typo on the latest version and should be a 3, not a 4

EDIT - What about where mountains like Mt Fuji are, do you reckon it would work to put a considerably larger mountain?

Erm, I've just seen the united states of apocalypse map go into the final forge stage...

I promise it should be finished by the weekend, if not before then...

I just have a serious exam tomorrow morning that has needed my full attention and I really can't fail or I'm really screwed. :)

It just looks a bit odd that I have stints on this map, it should be nearer completion soon.

Right, an update is well overdue, here it is...

Image

Right, I've changed a few mountains and added mount fuji (It's hollowed slightly because it's a volcano)...

You were going to do something with the Wakayama/Tokoshima labels, right?

Looking over things one more time... Tohoku could be a four, I think. But it's probably OK as a 3, especially since it can easily be combined with Hokkaido.

I think that the comment someone made about making the compass a little less sharp, so that it more closely resembled the style of the two drawn figures, has merit. But it's not hugely important or anything.

I believe I put it as a three because of being able to combine it with hokkaido, that could set a player up nicely with 6 and three borders...

I seem to remember changing the position of the Wakayama and Tokoshima labels... Hmm, well I'll have to find the version where that was done.
