How about a buddie list?????

We have an ignor list and i was wondering if the admin could do a buddy list so we know who is online at that time. That way u could always find people who like rt or like to play doubles with each other. Also how about a little icon at the side of our names to show we are online.
Thanks

Check the to-do list before creating new suggestions.
'My Friend' List is already on it.

Is this still on the to-do pile? It's a great idea -- it would be very convenient

If it is possible, could we have it so that when you put somebody on your ignore list, you can still see what their typing in the game chat of an active game with them?

we need a way to know who we want to know who is online instead of endless searching at the bottom of the club forum page .. even if it was as simple as high lighting what profiles we have clicked onto .. it works on other pages just not on the one that counts .. I thought we were gonna get somethin like that on our next new updates but didnt see it .. c'mon guys please

Fill out the form, and friends list is *To-Do*
Hit List

My idea is to create a "hit list" option in which you are able to record of list of players that you want to kick the crap out of because you simply dislike them, or because you enjoyed playing them before. Then when you go on to game finder to see what games are open, those players who are on your "hit list" names are highlighted.
The list can look and be filled out just like the ignore list.
I know this isn't the type of big idea that will effect everyday play, but I think it would be a fun option that would help enhance rivalries.

I saw that, and see the similarity.. although this is just a different list.

Why would you want two different lists that perform the same function?

Or we have 1 list with 3 different tick boxes
Friend
Enemy (hitlist)
Ignore
And your friends are green on the join games list
enemy will be in red
and Ignore will dissapear

Suggested ignore list

I didn't see anything like this already suggested so here goes:
I think their should be a separate official post locked in general forum that is a community created list of people that should be added to your ignore list. Mind you these are just suggested, but if most people take heed then it might be a reasonable option instead of banning.
I am willing to head up and project that is like this and I think it could have some great uses in the future.
Thoughts?

I think this is a pretty good idea, provided explanations be offered for suggestions to add to the list and that the list itself include a summary of the complaints. For example, I don't think a list that says
superstud1234
simtom
Gerazan
would be of much use. But one that gives reasons for them being on the list
superstud1234 - screws up pretty much any game he enters
simtom - deadbeats in hundreds of games for no apparent reason
Gerazan - bigoted jerk who likes to bash pretty much everyone who isn't a straight, white male
would very useful, especially to newer people to the site and to veterans who wish to avoid annoying or problematic n00bs.

I don't know if this would actually work, but you're welcome to start one.

My question is can I call it official? I don't want to upset any mods or Lack, but I think that this would be helpful

it would need to be made a sticky if it was going to have any lasting value at all.
Posted: Tue Apr 24, 2007 3:30 pm
by GrazingCattle
that was another point I was going to make.
I have no problem doing the research for the stuff, but i can't make it a sticky in general forum. AK_Iceman can you help us out on that?

it would be useful if the 'no' votes would comment on why they think this is a bad idea. I don't really see the downside if it's a list that only one person can modify. obviously if it's an open list, it will be abused, but if there is an official (supposedly impartial) person who is running it, I can't see why it's a bad idea

I like this idea.
Can I ask though, if the people are on the ignore list can you still see their forum posts?
I ask because there are some people whose posts I would rather not see due to their consistent racist content.
Is it possible to implement a system whereby their posts appear in the thread blanked out and the viewer has the option to turn them on if they want to.
This would be useful for isolating known trolls and spammers (not Spamalot guys

- more people from other game sites that are just here to advertise stuff).

Well... I don't think we can make it "Official" since even the worst players here have friends, but you can start it and if it works out then maybe we could do something more official.
And flashleg, here ya go.
