to me, i don't see any difference between either candidate ... their policies will all have the same end results ... being a radical independent that votes mostly republican simply because usually it keeps more money in my pocket and my family safe....i can't really bring myself to vote for either one of them ! ... maybe if it was a McCain/Romney ticket i could lol

I die a little inside everytime i think about what a pairing like this would do for the US big picture in the long run.
Re: OBAMA
wow. interesting thread. there seems to be a lot of misinformation and uneducated assumptions here. There's as much hairbrained conspiracy theories here as in one of xtra's 9-11 threads.
Doesn't matter anyway, as Obama's not going to carry any southern states because they're red states, not because he's black and half of the South is still fighting the civil war.

The bookmakers ( who are rarely too far off ) make Obama 1 -2 favourite with McCain the rag at around 7-4, seems to me that anybody who favours the outsider could make a tidy profit putting their money where their mouth is.

Honestly i dont think McCain is a bad wager given those odds, especially early on.

Just look at your words Dixie... can you not see that your vocabulary and tone precludes our taking them as anything other than Republican propaganda, which you have lapped up to mask your inherent xenophobia?
Looking in from the outside.. without the partisan allure which has inevitably besieged the US (it would be the same in the UK too) I can see that both candidates are fairly decent chaps (if a politician can be in reality)
Who lean towards the more pragmatic sides of their respective parties.
In very simplistic terms Obama has far more charisma and appears to have a greater depth to his sophistication. He has a broad world view and his background in the Far East (being a POW does not really give you balance on that front) gives him a massive advantage in dealing with the World stage catastrophe which has been acted out in the American peoples names, over the last few years.
Now there are many more reasons for which i perceive Obama to be a good candidate for presidency, not least the style with which he has dealt with the barrage of bitter rhetoric from the Clinton camp, (a sad day for Bill .. if he could keep his gun holstered, it may never have happened.. as Hillary bargained love for power with him.) but to base your defence upon a Fox-fed trail of prejudice is not a great way to glean a meaningful debate on the finer detail of the two candidates.

Look toots. I know you're finding this difficult, and I appreciate that reading and writing coherent English isn't your strong suit, so I'll make this nice and simple for you.
1. Yes I am calling you out for not liking black people, i.e. being a racist.
2. No I don't have anything positive to say about any candidate, that's not what I came to this thread to do.
3. I don't have to say why he's good, because I'm not here to provide an endorsement
4. The reason that I'm here is to point out the fact that you are an uninformed, oversensationalist, racist.
Got that yet, or do I have to spell it out on burning crosses for you? Any logical defence against the assertion that you're a racist? Or are you just going to keep dodging it and whining that haven't endorsed a candidate of my own?
In short: Your flagrant racism in these last few posts has been little better than the foaming rantings of Obama_Nigger/Nigger_Obama/Niggerobamacom, and you should be ashamed that you hold such repugnant points of view in this day and age.
Vote for whoever the f*ck you like, I don't actually care, but you should be ashamed of the fact that the reason you're doing so is because of a pathetic mindset which ought to have been left in the stone-age.

By the way, there's some guy calling himself the 'Grand Wizard' on the phone, says he wants to speak to you? Something about recruitment I think.
btw Dixie, why have you censored the word GOD? That speaks volumes in itself.
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I have voted Republican for President since the day I turned 18. In 2004, a watched the DNC hoping that Kerry could give me a reason to vote for him. He didn't. I am a registered Republican but want nothing to do with the Republican party as it is now. I learned about Ron Paul and HE is the kind of conservative I am. Follow the Constitution. I consider myself to be an independent free-thinking Conservative.
McCain will continue the war policies of Bush. THIS is my #1 issue. I listened to O'Riley the other day say, "Some Americans want us to lose the war in Iraq" and then called them names. Well, I don't CARE whether we win or lose the war. I just want our troops OUT of Iraq. They should have never been there to begin with. Un-American?......... BS.

Re: OBAMA
Dixie has gone overboard, but I just had to clarify one thing:
I think what he's saying here is that he wouldn't vote for Obama based solely on skin color, as some people have advocated.
How is it that it's okay to encourage people to vote for someone because of the person's skin color, but it's racist to not vote for someone because of the person's skin color?
How is it that if I say, "Vote for Obama! He's black!" That's perfectly acceptable. But if I say, "Don't vote for Obama! He's black!" That's racist and unacceptable?
Just to clarify, I don't endorse either statement; skin color makes no difference and shouldn't even be an issue.
So basically you're saying that the only asset Obama has is a great personality??
In my opinion, if you vote McCain in, you'll be screwed. If you vote Obama in, you'll be really screwed. So take your pick.

Neither are acceptable. One is judging a person based on skin color and one is supporting a person based on skin color. One is racist and one is just an ignorant way to choose who you will vote for.

Re: OBAMA
If one of your reasons to vote against Obama is that he's black, then yes, you are being racist to the extent to which it is a factor in your vote.
However, having this as a factor in your vote for him is not necessarily racist. Obviously voting for Obama solely because he's black is stupid, but I don't think people do that. He's not the first black candidate ever, after all, simply the first to be nominated. Those same blacks who voted for Obama wouldn't have all gone Republican if Condoleeza Rice or Colin Powell had been candidates, for example. No, they voted for him also because he mostly shares the views on issues.
I say it isn't racist because I feel that when they vote for Obama, it isn't because they hate whites -- it's because they're proud of the first legitimate black candidate. But when white, blue-collar men vote for Hillary and say "race is a factor", I don't think they're voting out of white-pride, but rather out of racism. Obviously I can't tell you this as a fact, but I think we all know there is some truth to this.

That is really what i take from your post.

Well, yes. Although your first option would be mindblowingly stupid.
Racism is when you behave badly towards someone because of their race or the colour of their skin. OK? I love korean women above all others but that doesn't make me racist. It makes me a connoisseur.
