could you put the people you have on the bottom of the map back to the size they were on the second update? I liked it more that way.

the new territory prospects are good, however its becoming more and more like a crayon replica of classic map so try different names and locations / boarders e.g. iberia or canada

i vote for more childish pictures. its in crayon, so they would fit nicely.

maybe a smiley sun. or a fire engine. you could even use them as extra territories!

He IS going to add the cartoons, but they shouldnt be countries. That would completely mess with the map.

Hehe...
"For generations, man has set his eyes on the sun and dreamed of a day he might claim it as his own... that day is now. At last, revolutionary crayon technology has allowed us to establish a permanent base on the surface of the sun and rain down sweet solar death on our enemies. The firetruck we took because it's shiny and red."

Do you need an excuse to have a war? I mean, who for? Can't you just say "You got lots of cash and land, but I've got a big sword, so divy up right now, chop chop."

Knock knock. Who's there? Draft 4!
Image

Draft 4 who?

Issues addressed:
- ) Chain of people larger and distorted
- ) Changed names of Alaska and Quebec to something less Classic-like.
- ) Childish drawings are here: Sun, Airplane, Laurie, and Compass. And, no, they're not territories.

Issues not addressed:
- ) Title
- ) More childish drawings, possibly
- ) More territories, possibly (I might have a poll on this later)
- ) Any other brilliant ideas

Columbia is a country in central america.
Okhotsk? huh.. what is that about?

maybe you should think of a background of some sort so people don think you spent 5 minutes on this map.

Colombia is a country in Central America. Columbia is a river in western North America. Plus there's a Canadian province named after it.

Okhotsk is a sea at the eastern end of Russia and north of Japan. Since Kamchatka turned out to be just a little peninsula, I looked on the map for something larger in the area to name the territory after, and there it was.

In fact, I should think about a background. It might compromise the papery crayon drawing theme, though. Hmm.

then it should be British Columbia.

also a background is up to you, but i know that many people seeing this map for the first time are going to say "wtf, whats this 5 minute crayon BS" they dont know that it when through many revisions.

maybe put it the paper on a desk with some actual crayons on the map. give the paper a slight texture too

all i think you should run with the child theme. if this was really going to be a world .5 with fewer countries i'd like to see it done up right like world 2.0 with out gimmicky graphics. but since you chose to go the child route, which is totally cool, then i suggest choosing childish names for every territory.

otherwise, the whole concept comes off as half-assed, at least to me.

I suppose most small children can't really point to Okhost on the map. Of course, I doubt most small children around here can point to Brazil on the map. So if I am going to go with childish names, it'd take a bit of thinking.

Australia could be Koala land or Kanagaroo Land, or something like that.

Greenland could be Cold Triangle.. or another thing..

Pretty stupid ideas, but meh. I can't think of anything else for the other countries.

Actually that's an interesting idea Skittles. Since this map is supposed to have a childish feel, maybe we should have childish names.

Not only can we interest the public it will add to the childish theme. However a problem with this would be making up names and making sure they aren't offensive, but still are childish.

Also, Spanish America could be Rocky Land, as for the length of mountains going down the west coast.

Brazil could probably be Purple Forest, as it's in the Purple continent, and the Amazon.
UK could be Royalty Land.
Scandinavia could be SnowLand.
Mid-East could be Oil Desert.

I'm just coming up with ideas at the top of my thread, I really have no idea if they're good or not.

I say we keep the names realistic and say a little Japanese kid drew this.

Why Japanese?
And i don't think it should have realistic names. It has a child theme, so it should of child names.

Because I'm racist and assume all Japanese people are brilliant.

That's not really being racist, but I guess it is to other races cause you're saying the Japanese are the smartest, which a lot of them are smart.

Why dont you go by what the kids WOULD know them as, even if you arent using all country names.

ex: Rename Brazil "Rain Forests"
Everyone learns that there are rain forests there, so try that.

And i like Turkestan.

No, UK stays UK. I'm adamant about this because it's the only name that fits in the territory.

I like Turkestan too, but I'm not sure how well a young child would be versed in the ethnolinguistic regions of the world.
