No Multipliers!

Excuse me, but WhyTF are people being rewarded for missing turns????
I scrape my way back into a game where a slightly stronger guy deadbeats 2 turns in a row and there's a weaker opponent I have to eliminate. I take care of business and the guy gets triple armies?
Seriously WhatTF?

You've been here a while D and surely you know that lack is not going to change this feature any time soon....

Because sometimes you miss a turn because of RL, and not because you're a tactical deadbeater.

there should only be a 2 turn limit

by rl he meant real life. People have their armies mutliplied because you can't always make it to your computer within 24 hours.
And there have been many threads about this in the last 2 months....the answer is going to be that the rule stands, I'm sure.

I have to agree with Brown.
They shouldn't get multiple armies..... ESPECIALLY after losing two turns.

Did you even read the replies? The rule will not be changed.

But if enough people keep letting their feeling known on this topic he might change his name. I mean what the hell Cub fans still think they can win a World Series.
And I agree I don't like the multiple armies after missed turns.

True Evil Semp, and I am fine with people continung to argue this topic...as long as they stop creating new threads every single time it pops into their mind. Look on the 'To-Do' list, and under the Rejected categorey you can find the designated discussion topic. If everyone kept their discussions about the topic in there, it would be easier to see the support (I.E. pages and # of posts, rather than random threads sporadically created throughout this board).

Maybe make an announcement in here saying "READ THE DAMN TO-DO LIST YOU NOOB IDIOTS" And say the same thing again on the threads first post.

That would be pointless...no one would read it,

You could split Suggestions and Bugs into 2 forums. Then make the suggestion forum so that only certain people can create new threads while anyone can reply to an existing thread. Have "new" ideas submitted to the forum moderators in PM and then either they will start a new thread or kindly point the person to the existing discussion thread.

No, I'm sorry, I don't know how to read...... I didn't know that I could post my opinion even though I know that the rules won't be changed.
f*ck off, dickbag.

I also think that this rule should be removed... most people use it strategicly and not for RL stuff.

I still don't get that... how? someone show me a game where missing a turn actually creates an advantage? The only way it could possibly be is if his opponents assume he is deadbeating and don't fortify their territories completely. Being able to place 6 armies at once is no different than placing 3, not attacking, then placing 3 the next turn. Its only a strategy if people are idiots and don't play like he actually took his turn.

if you deadbeat one turn you can begin the next round in freestyle...
so instead of placing 3 armies and wait for someone else, you wait until times up then make your move placing 6 armies and then attacks...
this is one of the easiest strategies including deadbeat, I can think of a few more, but I don't have time to write them down.

I thought if you missed a turn in freestyle it counted as you being the last person to go and you couldn't start the next round?
That's the whole complaint with "turn syncing" where people wait almost the whole 24 hours in a 2 person game, take their turn, force the other person to deadbeat a round and take another turn.

No, the complaint is that it prevents the last player from the previous turn from moving in the current turn except in the tiny amount of time at the end so they deadbeat, then the sync-er can then take a second turn when a new turn starts. If person being prevented from doing their turn gets there first in the second round, they get double armies and can do whatever.
Missin a turn

I amfed up qith people getting halfway into a game and then missing a turn once they have got a territory and well fortified and then missing a turn, only to come back with x2 armies, or x3 in some cases! this is an unacceptable tactic in the game and should be abolished.
An idea is that if you miss a turn, then you get x2 armies, but no territory bonus.
It has ruined both of the games it has happened in, and I think the tactic is spreading.
What do others think?

If you notice that someone has a continent and has missed a couple turns, then you have to consider the possibility that this player may come back and kick your butt.
If you don't pay attention or gamble that the person will be auto-kicked, that's your perogative but you are taking on a risk.
I think it is fair as is. Some members are busy in real life and can't come to a computer every single day. Getting the armies you missed encourages people to come back and continue playing their game.
