Guiscard wrote:I'd go for a simple font (non-oriental looking) for the territory names and keep the pretty fancy stuff for the legend. I like the legend font a lot.

A further point is that the impassable borders legend is:

a) pelt wrong (Impassable not Impossible) and
b) Pretty large, considering its importance and what it contains. I;d scale the oval down somewhat.

i will change the name, and i were also asking if i should add mountains in the west, than thats a impassable border, so i have to add that one and than can i change that oval

It LOOKS fantastic, not much to change there (maybe gr8 wall) in my opinion. But you still have the problem with the borders.

in every continent, every country is a border! (the only two not are Qinghai and Zhejiang.)

holding a continent looks damn nearly impossible with that many borders. The map looks pretty unplayable due to that, but if you can sort it out, it will be great..

it will make you play a different strategie with so much borders, i think it would be fun ;)

nice work here wisse. Visually quite clean. I have two non-visual concerns:

1. The Great Wall seems anachronistic on this map. The area of this map is China in 2007, not 2000 years ago when the wall was actually effective (and standing). No modern army with tanks and planes would find the wall much of a barrier, especially not the 7 million man army of communist China, which is represented by the flag. If you're going to make a modern map, I think it should have modern features.

2. If it is your intent to make players re-think their strategy by making the bonus regions impossible to hold, why have them at all? There are many ways to add twists to the strategy other than just making the map really hard. Different is fun. Frustrating is not fun.

1) well it would be fun to do if it is, its like when there would be a war now and they take over the wall ;) and not everything has to be as it is :)

2) they aren't impossibel to hold, but where shoudl i add rivers, i can add mountains to the west, but i don't know anything for the east

changed the great wall,
changed the land around china

do you like one of the 2 new fonts? i like the one in lanzhou (red bonus) the most

The red one is the best, but I'd still go for a simpler non-oriental font for the territory names. Wall is much better

The red one is my favorite as well.

Font in red is nice, but we're only seeing it on the biggest territories on the big map... I suspect it will be way to big on the small map on a territory like Pntrui, or whatever that's supposed to say in the middle there. Go for readability.

Is that a candy cane to Taiwan? :)

i will use it now on the whole map so you can see that ;)

p.s
whats a candy cane? (i don't understand the word cane, i am not that good in english ;) )

candy cane is a sweet, normally eatin at chritmas, its shaped like a shepherds stick-ish and it has stripes like your bridges, (he meant the bridges)

It looks really nice, but one thing. can you try your original font, but not in black and white, all in black (or all in white) , i'm still a big fan of the original font.

the wall looks much better, (although maybe a bit too many colours in it, the orange in it makes it look slightly like vomit)

the bridges are perfect

but army shadows, don't have that black ring round them.

2 last things,

1. could you not include hong kong? (if not then it's ok!)

2. borders are still too many, i recommend for now:

Remove bridge between Gansu and Sichuian

Remove bridge between Hebei and Henan

Remove sea routes (they really aren't needed on this map)

You need to make this the maximum number of borders

Green has 3 borders
Red has 3 borders
Yellow has 3 borders
cyan/ light blue has 4 borders
dark blue has 2 borders
purple has 2 borders
orange is fine.

If not, conintents will just be unholdable, and i don't think I will play this map.[/b]

ah i know know those candy things, that are those red, balck striped things?

and about the font, i can't do that, they are black with nothing inside, so i have to do always a glow after it,

yeah the wall looks now like a old wall ;) still i can't do nothing about that orange, it cames with it

i like those army shades but i will show you how they look without black line ;) (2 pictures next update)

i can add hong kong as a kapital, i were already thinking of that :)

i will remove the first bridge you did say, but why the second? it makes no different, orange has still 2 borders and blue still 3

i will remove the uppest sea route, but if i remove the lowest it looks a bit strange i think

i will look to the amount of borders you gave me :)

thnx ;)

I see what you mean about the second bridge, no need to remove it then :D

the continent can differ from my suggestion, in my korea map i have a 3 country continent with 3 colours, because I think it's necessary to have 3 borders to give a +2 bonus.

So meddle with them a bit, but I think at the moment, slightly too many countries are border countries
