Waiting for "already quenched" maps
Somehow it became a tradition to wait at least 2 -3 weeks for new maps after they had been quenched. Why is so much time needed? Something in this process is not working well. I hate checking everytime in the "start a game" menu, if they are ready to play or not.

The system worked fine, its all to do when lack has time to upload them for live play. Lately there has been alot of site bugs with the server upgrade and im assuming alot of labour is going into repairing them.
I also know lack prefers to uplaod in batches so he rarly uploades one map at a time.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

Principally I agree with you. On the other hand it shouldn't be very time consuming to upload 3-4 maps.
The problem is that tousands of players are waiting for newly quenched maps to play them. If you need a few minutes to upload them, why don't you invest a little time to do it immediately?
I'm just trying to increase the awareness of foundry mods about this isssue stating my thoughts from the player's point of view.

Easily argued against. Whenever uploading a fair number of maps (or even just one), there is a possibility of more bugs, qwerks, and kinks. To better serve the site, it's best to seperate all out, just incase any such arise.
And honestly, keep this in mind. This month is a near record breaking month for new maps. We have 10 Quenched maps this month, with perhaps at least 1 more on the way. There have been months where we had 0, 1, and 2. Be happy and count your blessings!

2. quench of Midkandil (former Midkemia)
We have been waiting for 22 days (as of December 29th, 2007)![]()

the reason for that was becasue of legal issues, no but the slow running of lack.
Wrong. that was the waiting time after legal issues has been resolved
We waited more than 1 month additionally for changes because of legal issues.

I can live with the wait... Lack likes to make sure everything will work, and he likes to do maps in a batch. Waiting a few days is a fair price to pay.
What really cheeses me off is when somebody posts a poll that is clearly intended to solicit a particular outcome... you know, like this:
To wait a few weeks for live play is, indeed, unreasonable. But how often have we had to wait a few weeks? I've quenched four maps, and I don't think I've my average wait time has been under a week. Scotland was two days, and the others were all 5-10 days. So while I would agree that I don't like to wait a few weeks for live play, I refuse to take part in the poll because I've never had to wait a few weeks for live play.

- Yes, I don't like to wait a few weeks for live play.
- No, to wait a few weeks is reasonable.

This topic is no longer useful, please move on to the feedback topic. Your complaints have been noted and we will do our best to make sure something similar doesn't happen in the future.
I noticed nobody expressed concern over this but lack did indeed have a good holiday break. Perhaps at your expense...
