Wasn't there a guy who, during the america revolution (maybe the civil war?) sabotaged a dock or something with his sons equipped with broad swords?

Yeah, I've seen some stupid Martial Artists who can't even spell the names of the moves or weaponry they use. It's sad... :?

i picked swords(which is very general). but a trained fghter with a knife can raise a lot of hell. there's a reason knives have never fallen out of favor and everyone keeps one as back up. and it should be said that infantry was basically still spearmen(with a couple of shots) till modern guns came into play. and calvary swords rule. and laser rifles and dirt bike rule all!

a common saying in chinese martial arts is that "the staff is the father of all weapons and the spear is the king of all weapons."

I think it depends, if you're talking about an action movie or smoehting, than they're all cool depending on the film. I hate cowboy movies, which has guns...but i love Halo3 which has guns (but im also a beast with the energy sword  )
