If my math is correct, this is 1 out of over 15,000 players.

To reach 3K or 3000 if 50 players achieve this it is 1 out of 3,000 players, again still impressive.

so the ladder seems easier to get to now, however, there is an in flux of tons of players that are getting really good, I'd say you have at least a few hundred players that are very very good, as back in February you may of had a few dozen. So, there is much more parity now, even though the points have inflated some.

Yes, I agree one of the reasons for having higher scores is that there are simply more good players. But for every good player that joins, many more bad players come as well, and they are the ones donating points to the top in the end. With no bad players, the group of excellent players would all still be at 1000 or so and they would just take points from each other. Instead, the huge base of 1000's of players which dip below 1000 end up giving points on up the ladder, and the top notch players get even higher.

I don't believe he meant those were the highest scores up until that point in feb. (actually, I know its not since alstergren and others had certainly broken 3k). That was just the top 10 on that particular day, which he had saved because it was the day of his highest score ever.


For those interested, here are the averages of the top 10 players over the last 5 days:

Of course that does not mean the top 10 has been increasing by 60 points every 5 days as a long term trend (that is much too high). It just shows that the last five days have seen a lot of growth at the top....or maybe that 5 days ago was a particular low point in the average top score. More data is being collected each day to determine the actual long term growth!

you are correct sully, although I based it from memory and it was a particular day in february, cause you are right, alstergren, jr, pilate, dminus, rlorange, robinette, nuke, etc. were all over 3K too at one point, so was just an estimated example on what it was like after CC was born around 1 year, now we are approaching close to 2 years and there is much more scores and great players, agreed with sully here.

Well its about time something favored singles players then, eh?

8 player games may increase the scores of players who are good at them, but thats not score inflation. That's simply the best players getting points by winning more (like your example of there being more and more good players so that scores at the top are better).

Well its about time something favored singles players then, eh?
