indie isn't a style it just means they aren't part of a record label, they fly solo which had advantages and disadvantages,

yeah but indie has a certain style.

Probably so, they just basically improved it from Slade, but, in my opinion, Oasis ruined one of rock's greatest songs.

Why do you love it so much? It's a pretty average 80's song to me... just wondering.

It's one of those songs that makes you want to start moving to the rythm.

BTW suggs, even Norse (whom happens to be a major fan of Oasis) says that version sucks. I have to agree with Norse there.

That kinda proves my point. If a right wing xenophobic bigot whos heart is so full of hate he probably woldnt recognise a passionate song if it came up and tongued him, that a good enough reason to like it.
Lets be honest-Oasis just rocked up Slades classic-how you can like one and not the other is beyond me, they are quite similar.
And i love Oasis, but thats all they are, a souped up Slade.
And nowt rong with that.

I tried listening to it, and quite frankly, it pissed me off and hurt my ears at the same time.

Then i guess rock music isnt for you.
You might find "Ode to Joy" a bit too heavy as well.
Pehaps the Osmonds are more your cuppa tea.

No, Indie Rock isn't for me, Metal and Hard Rock are for me, Country, Jazz, Classical, whatever. I enjoy many types of music and don't need a "high and mighty, know everything," person to tell me what I should and shouldn't listen to. I listened to Oasis to hear what they sounded like, and quite hinestly, it sucked in comparison to both Slade and Quiet Riot, thank you very much.

I replied "no" on the general principle that I think Oasis is awesome.

I don't really care for the song in question actually. The f*ck if I care if they stole a song or whatever.

What is this about again?

It was about Oasis' version being crap compared to the 1st two versions of the song.
