looks like you are on to something kool
wish I could help, but I do not know how to do that computer design stuff, I have ideas though.
I would like to come back but my life isn't full of spare time...I need to study a lot...university isn't that simple I also need time to party, time for friends and girlfriend(s),...
I just have time to play some games...no mapping for me in the near future...sorry
Ok guys, I've been playing around with GIMP for a few days and here is what i came up with, how does the back-ground look and blending in of the map? (And yes that is Mt. Fuji in the back-ground)
I'm not sure if you really want a modern Japan map. The images you're using as backgrounds in both versions I've seen so far are pretty traditional.
You might want to consider changing the territories to an older period. You'd give yourself more room for territories, borders, and factions.
I laughed when I saw a map with a samurai and a katana legend titled Modern Japan.
Imagine a USA map with civil war era soldiers and a musket titled "Modern America".
But that's just my opinion, as someone living in Japan, on the general image.
Good luck with it, and I hope to see more when you decide on territories and gameplay.
Well Gimil, i don't want to waste all my time working on something that people don't like, thats why i need you guys to tell me how the back ground is.
Symmetry, that is what i am going for, Traditional. I want to try to keep the Japanesee sytle but make it a little for modern.
The background is too eye caching. I don't think a color change will solve it. it is just too busy.
Also, you probably have to much space an each side. (The map does not reach the edge of the map.)
