WAITING TO TAKE TURNS!!
Why do some of the higher ranked players ( i won't call names)
use the whole 24 hours to take their turn, especially when it's clear they are losing the game. While they play every beginning or winning turn quick...
I know it's within the rules and you have the whole 24 hours. BUT it seems to be an strategie i don't understand.
Can someone explain?

If you know you're gonna lose a game then perhaps waiting til you've got 5 to lose at the same time is a good idea... then you can lose less points and win more when you win a load...
Does that work? I dunno?!

Hello ya little tinker!
well for me, i sometimes take longer in games where i am losing as the strategy to try to pull the game around is more tricky than if you are winning.
Where you are winning you just have to stick to the same strategy as it is working.
When you are losing you obviously have to try to formulate a better one.
Also if it is looking desperate you may have to go for a risky move which is 'make or break'... that takes a longer period of deliberation.

True enough!
also if you go look at the game .. bugger off .. come back, look again ... bugger off, talk crap on forum .... look again .... bugger off etc. etc. eventually when you come back, the correct strategy has seeped into your subconscious and you can play without too much of the stress of intensive deliberation.

Who has the correct answer?
As with most behaviours there is no single answer to this mate -
Mood: sometimes it is less attractive to play a turn which annoys you to even look at the board... Bad sportsmanship? well we're all human and we are enough slaves to this god-forsaken game anyway!
Strategy: It takes longer to change the tide of in a difficult game.
Points: well perhaps some people hold off as long as possible to stop points being deducted .. (I personally ain't got the stomach for that one but perhaps the higher the rank is the more they are likely to do this... as you have already decided
Subliminal calculation: we are all prone to our 'Eureka in the bath' moments .. where you shut the over-analytical eye in order to discover resting inspiration.

sorry, youre in the wrong conversation'
my best advice, though i am enjoying the convo here.. is to let it go
I myself never care if a person takes their turn... if they want to wait till the last minute for their points, fine with me.. Ill get them eventually.. patience is a virtue...
the games set up for 24 hours to move, and while the proper edicate might be to just make the silly move, and let the game be done... theres nothing wrong with waiting for jimi's epiphany, or just perhaps the hope of some better dice
Basically, its just easier to let it go... the only time its really wrong is if you leave a poor freemium hanging for 24 hours for the sake of a point or two..
I'm Spanking Monkey now....err...I mean I'm a Spanking Monkey now...that shoots milk
Too much. I know.

I dislike losing, so I would rather take my turns in the games I'm winning and just pass on the other ones until I have to take them. But since I'm not high-ranked, this doesn't apply to me.

sometimes i will get really bad dice one day, and will continually take turns that do not matter, until i feel that my luck has turned so to speak. i know its stupid, because i believe the dice to be random, but it makes me feel better to wait sometimes.
i never seem to let a turn sit past the halfway mark tho, most ive ever waited was like an hour and a half, lol. i always get bored and play it anyway.

i just play turns when i'm in the mood and i play them in the order they are listed. i don't care if i win or lose.

i tend to play my games early evening(after work) if i got other things to do (i know, i know what else is there apart from CC) it could be nearly 24 hours before i am able to play again.
and on occasion i look at a game that i'm not doing well in and i cant see a way out, so i leave it until i have a plan or until my time is running out, but i dont have a deliberate plan to use the whole 24 hrs.

i think the real question here is: why do people make 1-3 turns as soon as the game starts then, without even telling the other players who might be waiting, they simply stop?
why is there no way to set up an RT game? i mean, i know we can buy into the site for $20 to play 'speed games', but still...there should be a way to announce you want an RT game so people don't waste time waiting on other rude players.
my god, it's RISK, not a war in iraq!!

Just because someone plays a few turns in a short period of time doesn't mean they want to play RT. If I have some time I might play a few turns in a row but when my available time is up I move on to other things.

There is a way to set up RT games without paying for premium. Use the live chat to set up a game. Maybe you are the rude one for assuming that someone has to tell you that they aren't going to be playing until the game is over.

You seem to be the one getting upset about a game. Just chill.
