Believe it or not, I post all this stuff about God because I care. I care about every person on this planet. It is Gods desire (as well as mine) that "none should perish".

You are right. This is TOO BIG an issue to NOT try and change minds! But each person will "choose" to follow God or reject Him. THIS is the most important decision EVERYONE will make in this life.

If you have a child. Do you tell then not to play in the road? Not to touch the stove? Not to sit a radio on the side of the tub during a bath? Why not "let them have their privacy"?

We're not trying to offend you personally. We're trying to retialiate because a lot of us have been offended by your preaching.

And don't give me any "I'm not preaching I'm trying to save you" bullshit either. To you, it may not be preaching, but to us, it is. Please stop.

Hey jay heres a question. If there is a god why would he mess around with dinosaurs for hundreds of millions of years? Their existance has nothing to do with the human race, so I don't think you can say its part of his "plan". Or maybe you don't believe in dinosaurs?

A. Called it something other than "Logic Dictates There Is A God!" and
B. Not put a poll up.

If this was a "Christian Discussion" thread, you could have titled it that, and not put up a poll. If you put up a poll on a forum, what do you expect will happen?

This argument is going nowhere, you can't argue about faith based propositions and expect to change the mind of the other side. You can't argue about faith, but you can discuss idea, whihc is definetly not what's happening here.

Yes I "believe " in dinosaurs. I don't know why He created them but obviously He knew we could not survive with them around. Why did God make any creature that we don't use for food or clothing? I mean, what is the purpose of a skunk? Maybe God thought it would be boring if we were the only life forms on Earth. Or He wanted us to see the wonderment of His creation.

I think you missed the point... skunks are alive today and serve a purpose in the global ecosystem. But there would be absolutely no reason for God to waste time with dinosaurs. The whole thing would seem silly.

God thinks to himself, ok before I make the humans I better make some dinosaurs. After watching the dinosaurs for several million years he says, ok thats enough of that, and kills them off. Then after makin the humans he thinks, I hope this makes them realize how powerful I am. :roll:

Jay, I was just wondering, do you take the whole Bible literally, or do you know that many parts are symbolistic?

If you do take the whole bible literally, then; do you think that dinosaurs were around at the same time as humans? Because werent adam and eve supposedly created very soon after the earth was, leaving no time for the dinosaurs to Rome for Millions of years?

How does he accomplish his brainwashing without calling on the authority of a somewhat grumpy all-powerful being, quoting from a set of enigmatic rules supposedly given to humankind by said all-powerful being and using the threat of eternal hellfire to sway prospective followers? If Shermer is in fact brainwashing people, he must be quite the con man.
