Cheats should have feedback by admins

Post by delboy01 »

It has become apparent to me that a lot of busted players do not seem to have any feedback stating that they have been busted.

I feel that this should be done by the admins as soon as the person concerned has a failed appeal or do not contest the deccision.

Lines such as 'Busted multi' or 'busted secret alliance' could be added.

In this way other users could monitor previous offenders more easily or may chose to add such people to their ignore lists.

Comments please?

Not a good idea for the first offense because most cases are new freemiums who don't realize they can't make more accounts for more games. CC's policy is to allow for repentance. After 2 busts, then they should.

I think the rules are clear enough that first offenders should receive a mark if this idea is implemented. I think this idea should be in the suggestions forum though.

I voted yes. I'd like to know if i'm playing against a cheater or not. I don't care if they only did it one time, i'd still like to know.

Most definitely yes. After one strike, it's noted in the player's feedback.

As for "freemiums don't always know the rules" then it's their fault for not being sure to read the rules before trying something like that. Why cater to people who don't want to read the rules?

And the sorry I did not know defence. Just does not cut it. One strike and you should get one of these.
There can only be one. OK sometimes two or three.

It's written as a clear warning that having multiple accounts is forbidden while making an account, and before. It's directly there.

So this is a good idea.

I think it's a great idea, let people know before they play someone if they are a cheat or are to lazy to read and follow a few simple rules.

The biggest downside to this is that it's one more step for the moderators. I believe they already have too much on their plate, and to add another step to the process will be creating more work.

Either way, I still think it's a good idea. I just think we need more moderators or multi hunters.

agree with the above post completely - this is a good idea as least people will know that this player has form if its on their feedback (like a driving license endorsement) but would hate to be ncreaseing the workload of our already overworked mods and hunters.
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

A while ago...actually a year or more ago I think...people tossed around the idea of having a 'busted' mark in player profiles, but some discouraged the idea of the scarlet letter.

It's possible that cheating has gotten so much worse that people want to see anything that will discourage it. It's possible that knowing you have the potential to receive a scarlet letter, that people might think twice about doing something shady.

The Scarlet Letter could definitely be a deterrent. What would be better?
  • Feedback related to [Busted]
    or
  • Profile mark related to [Busted]
    or
  • Some other option

Profile mark.

I rarely look at feedbacks, but i am on profile pages quite a lot.

Just a small box that says "busted as a multi" or something similar would be fine.

I almost always check a player's negative feedback while hardly ever venturing into their profile.

Why not both?

How about a red (or black) rank icon? If it's feedback, I think it needs to stay on the very top of the feedback all the time. Profile is fine, but I rarely ever check other people's profile.

The rank icon would be a true scarlet letter; the biggest downside to that is that some people would want a different color and might be encouraged to cheat.

i think there would be widespread support for this initative now even if it was shot down a year ago

i think a different icon might be too much. just a message on their profile or feedback is all they would need.

i second the motion of marking the profile page. i almost always check the profile. i only check the feedback if there are an excessive amount of negs. there really should be something i think.

same for me.

If im interested in someone enough to learn more bout them, for whatever reason, i always go through their profile to check feedback, find forum posts, check their score, or whatever else i may need. a mark on that page would really help.
