Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

Re: Battle of the maps (25/56) (2/8)
rebelman wrote:We now have 56 maps in live play and several in final forge due out any day - so that's where this tournie idea came out of.
Basically I'm looking for up to 64 players (if that many maps are in play by the time we roll, if not once all existing maps have been chosen by players this tournie will roll into action) each selecting a different map.
Every player picks one map which is their home venue for the entire tournie.
The draw will be seeded based on scores at time of entry.
Each round will be best of 3 knockout - (1v1) one game on each home map and the third game if necessary on the map of the player who won one of the first two in the shortest time in rounds / time.
All games will be seq, no fog, chained & flat rate
If there are not 64 maps quenched by the time we start some players may get a by into round two (these will be the highest ranked players to enter) - assuming no other maps are quenched by then, the top 8 seeds will get a bye into round 2 where they will be joined by the winners of the 24 first round games.
This is my first time organising a tournie but i am hopeful this will be a good one.
My current score is 1619
If you are going to have byes (due to only having 56 maps) then you actually have 28 first round match ups meaning only FOUR byes. or 60 players total.
If it's quenched in time AND DiM doesn't want it, I'll take Age of Realms. Otherwise, throw me in for Chinese Checkers (already have too many Merchants 1 v 1 games played on my record).
I'm not sold on playing the 3rd match on the home court of the one who wins quickest - they probably did that for 1 of several reasons (they had extremely good dice/drop/cards, opponent had extremely bad dice/drop/cards, they knew the ins and outs of the map, or the opponent was plain confused). Especially, if you use newer maps - that will definitely make home field a HUGE advantage.
Either assign the 3rd game for EVERYONE to a neutral map (Classic) or whatever you choose so long as it's the same for everyone OR give it to the "home" (higher seeded) player every round OR randomly draw and when you put up the bracket (before play begins) you indicate which player/bracket will have home field in each round.
PM me if you have a question about what I mean. OR don't since it is your tourney and you can decide to run it how you want.

thanks for the advice - I will put you down for a of r as i reckon it will be quenched (if i was entering - I would have gone for it). There is logic in what you suggest but I am leaving it as is. As this is a 1 v 1 tournie where in effect the maps are battling each other -i'm going to leave it as is.
