Don't forget, the 3456 League took a dang long time too. ;)

2 months of runtime on 3456 to date... and the first round is BASICALLY done....

That's nearly a year [for historical battles], or close to 3 times as long as 3456 is expected to run.

Yeah, don't dig me too hard Opty. I did say when I set 3456 up that the 1st round would end around the 1st week of November, and as I recall you were pessimistic about that. You may turn out to be right if Kinnison keeps his heels dug in. lol. or kidstrumpet. And I think Kin's estimate of a year is too low.

Hey OP how long has Middle Earth been running?

Winner: Brikb
last eliminated: Bonobo's son
second eliminated: St augustine
First eliminated: Skittles!

but they were all eliminated in the same round, so shouldn't they also all get equal points? because i could just pick whoever i'd let be second/third/last.

Yes, If any other "historical battles" come online during the tournament before they are chronologically due (Time flows in one direction, thank you very much) they will be included. If they are already passed, then they will appear in the next round.

I'd like to make one comment on the voting so far... without giving away the count for those who haven't voted yet.

I *DID* vote against Bamboo Jack. Not as a matter of 'is it historical?... but simply because I prefer not to meddle with the layout of a tournament after it starts.

I admit to advocating the modification of round 2 when it looked as though we were going to have a huge problem with non-premium players. I came to believe my opinion there was wrong. In the same fashion, adding maps and exteding rounds of a torunament in progress is... questionable. Maps are CONSTANTLY coming out of the forge, including a LOT of battle-based maps, by the very nature of the game we're playing.

game 1170794..

St Augustine has not joined... with a little research, I find he's in one active game, less than 3 hours from deadbeating out of it, and hasn't taken any turns on CC since the 5th of November...

With a join date of only Oct 13, I think we have a permanent departure from the site. :(

Will sub in for St Augustine to get that game going.

We've also had a few problems with people joining the wrong games. Please, could everyone be careful that they join the game they have been sent. If you join the wrong game, it makes things harder. I think I will have to start setting game specific passwords, rather than round specific ones. This will negate the problem. I was going to apply a point penalty for doing it... cause creating unique-ish game passwords is annoying. Anyway. Just join the right games, okay? There's no way I'll send you someone elses game number, because I copy/paste the block from excel with you and your numbers. So can't you do the same copy/paste and not stuff up? Cheers.

On the adding maps note, I've had a think, and I won't add any maps. I agree, this is a) going to be long already and b) infinite if we keep up with foundry. So yeh, tourney is as specified in original post.

We're almost half way through the first round, so that makes it 1/6 over... and it's only been 3 weeks. If we can keep up this pace (and I suspect we'll just get faster after this round finishes) we should be done by halfway through next year. :)
