I think s.xkitten had the best answer for this (the glass is twice as big as it needs to be to hold the specified amount of water).

Whoops :oops: voted for wrong one, actually half full, however i'm a pessimist. I never have thought of this question as a good one to tell wether someone is pessimist or optimist.
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.

if it was just a glass and not a question of my outlook on life, i would have chosen half full. assuming this IS on my outlook on life, i tend to be more pessimistic.

Irregardless of whether the glass is half full or half empty, it is still only half a glass making no difference in measurement.
