Eliminated last, but most points lost?
I'm having trouble understanding the logic with this, so maybe someone can enlighten me. I was in a four-player game, and I was the third person eliminated by the winner.
The first person eliminated lost 14 points, the next person eliminated lost 15 points, and I lost 16 points. This seems rather counter-intuitive to me. It looks like I'm being penalized for lasting as long as I can. Or, put another way, there is a small incentive to sacrifice yourself in a game when it looks like one player is dominating.
Am I missing something? Is there some logical reason for this point penalty system?

Score
Conquer Club players are initially given a score of 1000. At the end of each game, the winner takes points away from each loser. The points to be awarded is calculated as (loser's score / winner's score) * 20, up to a maximum of 100 points from each opponent.
Under instructions, score and rankings

you start with 1000 whn you sign up
if you lose to some1 with 1000 points then the equation looks like this
you then have 980 points, lets say you won against the same guy who now has 1020 points
you now have 1001 points (1000-20+21)
the other player has 999 (1000+20-21)
EDIT: fastposted! dang you jennifer lol but mine looks cooler and is more detailed!
if you lose to some1 with 1000 points then the equation looks like this
Code: Select all
(1000/1000)*20 = 20
(1)*20 = 20you then have 980 points, lets say you won against the same guy who now has 1020 points
(1020/980)*20 = 20.8 or 21
(1.04)*20 = 20.8 or 21
you now have 1001 points (1000-20+21)
the other player has 999 (1000+20-21)

jennifermarie wrote:the losers score and winners score it refers to is how many points they have at the time the game is over....lets say i'm playing you and i have 1200 points, and you have 1300...i beat you so the formula would be (1300/1200)*20=21.6666 (not sure if rounded up or down here)
allright...cool
thank you
