I can make it more blue, but it really needs the green to stop the land looking like it jsut cutes off at the water.
Make it blue in the middle then
We'll see
the legend, i think should look less like modern wall and more like a castle one
It was a castle look i went for. what maeks it look modern?
Castle stones tended to be flat, they did not stick out in the middle I dont think there was a general concenus across europw whne they where making castle walls They where mainly flat though, because that is a harder shape to attack there nowhere easy to grab on a flat surface
castles still need doing In what way? I plan on doing t shading by hand, im jsut not sure how to go about it.
I thought you where planning them to look more like the ones of AoR
No the old castles got replaced with these ones to keep --- happy.
well you dont need to placate ---- anymore. And grey lumps really dont seem to fit the map
STILL A TOO GREEN MAP
I put the lake in to break the green up the green a little which i though worked nicely. What else do you suggest to break the green up further?
Bluer water, mud, sand? mountains, fields. Fileds are possile, but athte scale im doing, making mud fit is hard and mountains are impossible. nothing wrong with a large muddy swamp.
roads/paths need more width variation
Why? roads dont tend to largly in size, and at this scale i think there fine.
same with the cliffs
The cliffs where extramly difficult to make and i dont think i could change the width to much without making them look artificial, but ill experiment.
army circles are a tad too light
Ill lighten them
No reduce the lightness, make them less transparent
Thats what i ment
missing a number right of the barbarian castle
It will be fixed
and quite a few more. (my mistake not as many as i though, the road looks like borders )
The type font really does not fit. The type font really does not fit.
As much as i hate to tell you this i will be back
en-guard:

Reason:Mod Edit
as i said in chat some house scattered around the map or windmills etc would nicely break up the greenness without interfering with game play if you wanted you could add a ploughed field near a house to make it look like a farm.
The legend now looks far better as do the rivers and lake - the lake need an island to break it up though
so people are not confused as to to which territories are which (as happens in d day) it might be worth changing the small black numbers depending on the region to avoid confusion.
im no expert on these matters but I believe some of your army circles need to be moved to avoid confusion over which region they relate, if you like i can list the ones I am refering to.
"Northern" is misspelled on the small map.
the Realm of might Castle is missing its name
bottom right corner of legend no need for "in feudal"
the rebel castle needs to be bigger it looke puny in comparison to the others
surely you mean castles con bombard "non-ajacent" territories in their kingdom as I believe XML does not allow bombardment of adjacent territories.
"territories" is also misspelled in the legend
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.
Ok rebel that fine. but these points i will dispute.

rebellion is small, thats why is has te small caslte, and as we discussed im pritty sure you can bombard ajecent terrs. There no reason you wouldnt be able to.

fair enough regarding the castle point (as my name suggests I am probably biased towards the rebels)
Regarding the xml this was discussed in the duck and cover thread see below:

alaska and siberia connect directly, but also alaska can bombard siberia. will this be an XML problem? I don't think it will allow you to do both options.
someone might say to this, "if you can attack it, why would you want to bombard it?" well because if I bombard, then I don't have to send one of my armies over AND there is a still 1 neutral army there as an extra border to alaska.
nope not possible to do both things.
I'd like to see what the game tries to do if you code it that way. I'm guessing the site might just outright reject the xml in such a case though.

It's not that they aren't readable...
I just think you have to lower the intensity of the colour red and blue.
I like the font, but the red and blue are 'eye catchers'.
the colour looks to much the same as army numbers...
so when you play this map you will see a lot of numbers and than your beautifull graphics get lost...
Gimil...two quick things...the font....
1. the gray brick work doesn't help behind the gray outlilne font in legend...can you change this so it is more legible
2. i can hardly read the text on map!
