I like the America vs. others idea. I'm new and not sure how the tournaments work, but am definitely interested in joining one. Any one offer me some details on the basics?

is there any chance of a tourny that will have a regular schuedule (say 4 times a year) with standings for each one and an overall?

a good one would be to have several classes 1v1, 2v2, 3v3. each class would have a single elimination with however many rounds it takes to complete. also in the 2v2 and 3v3 classes you could have divisions for the different styles. you could set up a points system where each win would give you 5 points for overall scoring. possibly award the winners of each class with a month of premium memberships.

the player selection would be random for the first round with the first one chosen (player or team) on each game being the "home team" with the choice of map. you could have a round for each set of options.

I hope you meant Tournament Organizers there.

Actually you are tournament SYSTEM directors.

Tournament directors are people who are directing tournaments. You don't do such a thing ;)

I think this may of already been suggested but how about a terminator/assasin tourny. What will happen is that there will be 36 players. They will be grouped into 6 brackets. The game is terminator but each player has a secret target. If thier target gets eliminated then they get 1 point. If they are the one to eliminate them they get 3 points. Once thier target is eliminated then every editional player they eliminate is worth 2 points and who ever wins the game gets 5 points. They play 6 games per bracket on different settings. The top player from each bracket moves on where the same thing happens for the final.

edit: modified it slightly, doing a test run.... I lost the link, it's the Trial Tournament thread if anyone's interested....

36 players.... 6 6 player games.... playing for points, haven't decided on a system yet.... either points per player eliminated and points for winning a game or varying points for how long you last in the game would work.... each game is repeated 3 times.... the player with the lowest score from each set gets eliminated and the remaining 30 players get regrouped and repeat the process.... haven't decided on 5 6 player gamesor 6 5player games, whether a bonus would be gained for having the mostpoints after a set, I'll just show it instead of trying to explain it....

Group A (Players 1-6) 3 Games
Group B (Players 7-12) 3 Games
...
Group F (Players 31-36) 3 Games

The player with the least points in each group is dropped, the remaining players are regrouped.... PLayers ranked from highest to lowest score and then grouped.... Ranks 1-6, 7-12, ...25-30

Group A (6 players with highest score) 3 Games
...
Group E (6 players with lowest score) 3 Games

the player with the lowest score in each group would be dropped and the remaining players would be reranked and regrouped into 4 groups of 6 and so on and so on, 3 groups of 6, 2 groups of 6....

From here, there would be 10 players left, they would be ranked and put into 2 games....

Ranks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 would play 3 games and Ranks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 would play 3 games.... drop the lowest and rerank and group like the previous set.... repeat and when it's down to 6 players, they'd play in one group, 2 games and drop the lowest, 2 games and drop the lowest, so there's 4 players left and they play 4 games, the highest scored player of those4 games wins....

might be too long, and then you ave to work out what to do in ties or if more than one player in a group has the lowest score....

first round would only be the problem, you can use total score for the whole tournament for tie breakers.... or something along those lines....

it also doesn't have to start with 36 players, it could be more or less, 25 players, 5 groups of 5 players, 72 players where there's two sets following the 36 player one I've posted, etc....[/url]

If I'm not mistaken, it's only as long as an NHL season, and only half the length of MLB. It could be done, but it's a lot of work, and you'd need 30 (?) dedicated players.

CC Season Champion (Idea)

Post by Sir. Ricco »

I had an idea for a tournament that had 48 players. It started with 7 season games (1 vs 1) and the 16 players that had the best record would continue to a tournament. The tournament would start with 8 game (1 vs 1) till it got to the finally game and the winner would be the CC Season Champion. Well what do you think.

This is a good idea and I think you should run with it, however, it needs to be added to the Tournament Ideas thread, so I'm going to go ahead and move it over that direction.

The only way to find out is to organize your idea into a tournament (maps, order, cards, etc.) with a schedule, and open it to the public. Then wait a week and see what happens.

Well, it was a sticky until last night, when I realized hardly anyone was using it and this forum is less than a page long. However, because you are such a darling, I shall sticky it once again for you. :D
