I am Converted to Peal Harbour! leave it be on the Plane reinforcement.

It's a really imaginative map with some original additions.

thanks for your hard work ..... BOB still not quite working but if you know about the planes its no bother. (any one able to do a patch?)

Cheers,

Jim.

Interesting...

I guess i'm a freak, I LIKE crossword. ;)

8 Thoughts is interesting, but not great. Much like Chinese Checkers... the symmetry hurts the map. Although 8 thoughts has a 'cooler' look and perspective on it. Haven't tried US Senate...

Pearl Harbor is HUGELY dependent on luck of the drop, with all those bonuses. Never played AoM or D-Day yet, but they appear to have a similar problem.

Doodle Earth is rather silly. ...but then, I went and joined a 6-player public game on it (heh) so who am I to talk? ;)

Circus Maximus... I liked it when I first got here... not so much now. It needs to be limited to Escalating games, really.

2 player shouldn't even be an option with P-Harbor considering you can get upwards of 15+ reinforcements on the drop. It's just too large of an advantage despite any other setting involved.

I don't agree that you should get the minor bonuses for the planes. I've only played this map in 1-1 but it is realtively easy to take and hold 3 of one type plane without having any real strategical advantage over your opponent. Maybe you should only be able to get the bonus for the planes IF you also hold the gunning stations coordinated with them (Like the +1 bonuses).

RobinJ wrote:I have to agree that there are some maps out there that just don't work:

Chinese Checkers: just too symmetrical, although it isn't so bad for team games

Crossword: Everything about it sucks

Indochina: nice graphics now it has been updated but the playability still isn't great

Ireland: playability isn't great and the graphics could be better
Montreal: still looks crap (why do we even have a map of Montreal when there are so many other bigger cities?)

Pearl Harbour: Graphics and the idea is fantastic. However, there is just far too much happening - can't understand it. Hopefully I will come to like it as time goes on

Rail USA: just far too abstract and doesn't make for a good game. I hope Rail Europe does not get quenched

US Senate: So symmetrical that the games are just boring

A few other iffy ones like AOM and Space but they're all right once you learn how to play them

Don't know why some of the other maps are getting a beating though. I love Discworld and D-Day for example.

These are the reasons why CC should combine some of the facets of Dungeon and Dragons character generation with the simplistic strategic gameplay of Risk. It would be new and FUN! Dungeon&Dragons and ConquerClub...the two would meld together perfectly! Though it wouldn't be really considered Risk anymore, but a Hybrid version of the two. Also would be a major undertaking to program. But if it ever sees the light of day...I am playing it!

3.)Incoming fire has the right of way

Well maybe Alexander's Empire and Mongol Empire are both morally sick, making people feel guilty :)
