I really dont see why this has to be hurried...

Its a 100 player tourney, itll take more than a week to fill. You should just keep recruiting others in the forums and make it legit.

Abbreviated tourney

Post by flexmaster33 »

I've just found that tourneys seem to fade easier when it takes a month or more to fill the field...those that sign up early tend to lose interest...it will still be a pretty large field, maybe once people see how much fun we're having the next one will fill up :D

We're not even halfway there yet...I just felt like I was being too ambitious going for 122 teams (originally).

I'll put it up to a vote...if it's overwhelmingly in favor of holding out for more players, then I don't mind waiting another week or so.

See website http://www.flexmaster33.blogspot.com to vote.

Look at Gozar's 125 player tourney - that one is awesome because it is so many people. I am more than willing to wait longer for a fuller tournament.

Re: 2007 College Basketball Season SEE DEBATE (40/92)

Post by benjij »

flexmaster33 wrote:LEAGUE-SIZE UP FOR DEBATE...SEE PAGE 5 or visit http://www.flexmaster33.blogspot.com

SIGN-UPS END WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...late entrants will go into the reserve list.

The college basketball season is on the horizon, and I will be hosting a 92-team college basketball season with a March Madness tournament to decide a champion.

I hope to follow along with the actual season as best possible, so when March rolls around hopefully we will be having our own Selection Show Sunday

I also want to have in mimic the actual college landscape as closely as possible, so the elite teams (Duke, North Carolina, Florida) will be reserved for Sergeants and above.

Please state your preferred 2-3 schools and also include any that you would not want to be assigned and I'll do my best to form the leagues. See bottom of post for the leagues and teams that will be in play. (I'm a private 1st class and will be playing as Oregon State in this tourney)

Be sure to include your homecourt preferences when you sign up (all games will be sequential)...map, cards, fortification and rank would be helpful, too.

Non-premium members are welcome...I just ask that you keep a game slot open to account for a busy basketball schedule.

I have opened up a seperate website to help tackle updates for this huge league and also have more detailed rules and guidelines for the season at http://www.flexmaster33.blogspot.com

There's no reason to hurry up and close this. The season isn't for a while longer anyway and it'll just make it harder to truly schedule (and give players the teams they want) if you end sign ups soon. Give it at least another week, if not 2.
