OK, OK Optimus

Post by flexmaster33 »

In response to the mix of whining and occassional trash talk from Optimus...I have replaced the Big Sky with the Mountain West...also replaced the West Coast Conference with the Patriot League...

I will play as the Bucknell Bison...and I'm hoping this opens the door for Optimus to join in as his beloved BYU Cougars. By the way Optimus, isn't the Mountain West the league that also flames out early in the tourney

You may officially count me in as BYU for the Mountain West. My home map will be.....Global Warming I suppose and Flat Rate cards with chained fortifications. My rank.....well, right now it is Corporal. :D

Yes, they do flame out early, although EVERYONE knows that for the past three appearances, BYU has gotten completely screwed when it comes to the seeding. Even the analysts think so. There is no reason we should have been playing Xavier last year in the first round, and of course, we shouldn't have lost to them either.

Although, if you look at it we always lose VERY close for the most part in the big dance. :D

A kid I know from my area, played against him in varsity B-Ball, names Jimmer Feddette, got a full basketball scholarship to BYU. Maybe youve heard of him Optimus???

Hello college hoops fans

Post by flexmaster33 »

Man, where are all the college hoops fans...I figured it would take some time to fill up this many slots, but I thought we'd have a bigger surge than this...no one has gone Pac-10 yet. Any suggestions to get the word out?

At least this post will get us back to the top of the list...lol

I don't recognize the name, but then I haven't been up to speed on our new guys coming in this year. I'm sure if he winds up playing for BYU Basketball I'll know of him soon enough though. I'm a big fan. No better place to watch a game than the Marriott Center.

Changes

Post by flexmaster33 »

Since it is taking forever to get teams signed up...I cut a few of the minor conferences and lowered the teams from 122 down to 100...The Ivy League is the new (and only) minor conference involved...so all you upset-seekers out there sign up. I'm hoping to keep it a big league so there is some suspense and something to play for during the regular season...but I'm also hoping to tip off the season soon. Thanks for your patience everyone.

Hey man, if you are giong to take my Huskers, you better be proud of them! lol. Our football program is going the wrong way, so maybe bball can come in the picture!

well, i wanted to play as nebraska, but then they were taken, and also i will be leaving in february so i cant since we are going to follow along with the regular season.

This however is a great ideah, and if you can follow it and do it successfully I tip my hat to you.... that will be a lot of work. I would nominate you best organizer in the world if you pull it off

And as for you JesusReighns i will be watching your progress...lol

Final days of signups

Post by flexmaster33 »

In a final effort to get a big league filled out, I sent out PMs to a bunch of players who had signed up for recent college hoops tourneys...If we get a big surge of players over the next few days, we'll run as planned...If not I'll adjust the leagues into some sort of geographical sense and we'll go ahead with a smaller league (fewer conferences, fewer games, smaller March Madness tourney)...I'll set the final leagues on Wednesday night and will get in a request for opening games late this week...hopefully we will be up and running by the weekend at least.

If the league remains fairly small...I will be able to handle the PM load to alert players to new games. I'll stay in touch...thanks for your patience and good luck making the tourney :D
