The books are considered stories which use the characters, information, names, and other elements associated thereto.

If you read the Original Post, you'll see why it's stickied (admittedly by a mod who's no longer here ...).
In point of fact, it should be deleted/trimmed, leaving behind only the first post (complete with quote of the copyright statement). Then it could be locked and renamed: "ALL Star Wars/Star Trek maps will be REJECTED due to Copyright Issues"

I agree that this is no more than a dicsussion of maps that can never be made. But if you lock it then people will keep creating new threads, so we may as well leave it open for anybody who finds it necessary to dream of a SW map.

there is no way to go AROUND the copyright, so why not go through it? why not just ask them for permission?

have u ever SEEN a map of the star wars galaxys? think the world 2.1 maps territories, then add 20-50 territories

Got a great Idea for a map
after the new realms came out...I think I got a map/entertainment game that alot of people will like..please get back to me
