More recent downtime today (Friday Oct 12)

Post by lackattack »

I ran a database command that turned into a disaster, taking down CC for an hour. Again, I apologize. I will delete any speed games that were ruined.

database rollback

Post by orion_ »

I've been wondering about this. If CC went down would it be possible to rollback the database to the time before the downtime occurred. This is possible with some databases. Either way I think there should be some sort of policy regarding what happens to games during downtime, said policy being based on the capabilities of server and intention of webmaster.

Speed game with 5 players got stopped because of the downtime and the last man standing aka last guy before end of round won :(
It's not fair on the 3 ppl who were battling it out in that game to have lost all those points.

U can delete this game?

what about regular games that were effected? I was in the middle of a turn when CC went down. Because of this i didn't get a card even though i had taken over a territory during my turn....
Is this a case of too bad about ur luck?

I deleted about 30 speed games that were shut out due to this downtime.

awww - i had that one in the bag till the site went down. And it would have broken my losing streak. And i won coz i was the last to deadbeat, if you see what i mean. And now the guy gets back his points.

My only complaint is my speed game was deleted, which I was about to win.

I would be upset if it wouldn't have been close, but maybe a pm next time asking if they want the game deleted.
