the human body as a map is do-able but it has nothing innovative regarding the gameplay.
this thread is mostly about the gameplay not about the graphic itself.

Map idea - The Human Brain
Another WIP I've been doing. Any interest? Shall I post what I've got so far?

Re: Map idea - The Human Brain
Also check out the human body threads... seems like some of those went off on brain-only tangents.
Like this one:

had a cool brain image in it.

Map Idea - Human Body
Not sure if this has been suggested before. Here's a terrible rough sketch as a sample. You could make a map of any system (especially those with recognizable part names, like the muscular and skeletal systems), but here's just an overall body. If people like the idea, I could work on a better version. Or someone more talented graphically than me could pick it up.

I like this idea. I too like the idea for a Head, Shoulders, Knees, & Toes bonus [would this also include an Eyes, Ears, Mouth, & Nose bonus? - guess that would be face].
Let's do a territory count (current & suggested):
Hair, Eyes (2), Mouth, Shoulders (2), Biceps (2), Forearms (2), Lungs (2), Abdomens (2), Groin, Thighs (2), Hands (2), Calves (2), Feet (2), Heart
That's 24 terrs. Here's my suggestion:
Eyes (2), Shoulders (2), Biceps (2), Forearms (2), Hips (2), Pectorals [or Breasts/Chest] (2), Thighs (2), Hands (2), Shins (2), Feet (2), Elbows (2), Knees (2), Wrists (2), Ears (2), Ankles (2), Nose, Neck, Hair, Mouth, Groin, Stomach [with Belly Button], Face [encircles Eyes, Mouth, and Nose]
This would increase it to 38 terrs. You'll notice I changed a few territory names. Seeing as how this is a front view [Calves are in back, Shins in front] and not an X-ray [Lungs internal - Breast/Pectoral/Chest external]
You can include Heart (39) if you want. Would you also want a Brain (40)?
I like the Hands to Thighs attack lines (should be one way). If you make it with my suggested terrs - the Hands should be on Hips.
Excellent suggestions Aerial, thanks! Here's Version 2.0 (again, major apologies for the atrocious MS Paint sketch):
So territories are now:
eyes (2), nose, ears (2), mouth, forehead, brain, neck (2), shoulders (2), biceps (2), elbows (2), forearms (2), wrists (2), hands (2), pectorals (2), heart, navel, abs (2), groin, hips (2), thighs (2), knees (2), shins (2), ankles (2), feet (2). Total of 41 territories.
I could split forehead into forehead + hair, with brain connected to both if an even number of 42 is better.
Hands have one-way attacks to the hips, and hands can attack each other. Feet can attack each other.
Brain and heart can attack each other. Brain can also one-way attack both hands and feet.
Oh, and contrary to my crappy drawing, only the right hand should be touching any part of the torso.
(And yes, by correct anatomical position, the "left" and "right" are reversed, but I think it looks better this way for map purposes.
Still thinking about a "head, shoulders, knees, and toes" bonus somehow.
Thoughts?

maybe you like the cartoon style - which could be fun - but what if you worked from an existing, famous model? I can see these territories being superimposed on something like Michelangelo's David; 400+ years old so no copyright. It would be instantly recognizable which may lure in more players, and it would provide additional context to expand upon the map's theme.

I dunno, I don't think anybody has a neck that can be divided in two (unless on steroids).
I say keep neck as one terr. move heart up and to the left (have it border left pectoral). Add in Torso between the abdomens and pectorals [Navel should be encapsulated in Torso OR it should connect to Torso, Left Ab, and Right Ab].
I like the idea where Brain has attack only against Hands and Feet (since it controls them). But, to further offset Brain's power - Groin should have an attack only against Brain
I don't know that I like adding Hair as a terr. Maybe you could add in something like a "Wedding Ring on left hand." Ring is defend only. Attackable from either hand (possibly heart and brain).
Ring = -1 (start neutral)
Ring + Heart = 0 [-1 for Ring + 1 for Heart]
Ring + Heart + Brain = +2 [AND +1 for Brain and +1 for Heart (4 total)], cause you're totally in love

2) To quote my good friend Pepperonibread, I would rather inhale a bag of sea monkeys than ever look at this map again.
3) Your not allowed to use paint to create a map.
Sea monkey eggs, Wright. There's a difference.
Seriously though, I agree with Wright on #3, you'll either have to use a better program or collaborate with another mapmaker to make this work.
