dont think that is correct now that scotland and wales have their own governments, might want to split it up but have a bonus for controlling the queens interest:
england
scotland
ireland
wales
australia
(and other commonwealth countries)

so i guess UK will be counted for 1 country but the bonus for the Commonwealth Realm (15 countries) is a good idea.

No - from your quote it says that the UK is made up of 4 "countries" thus I reckon you should split them...

I think this could be a good map to have, not for every day use, but to dust off occasionally for big or special games. Of course, it would be available as normal, but few people would really play it very often if it's so big.

I'd like to see an escalating tournament where the first round it played in Doodle Earth, then classic, then 2.0, and finally this. Climactic!

i think that many people will play it even if it will have so many terits. i've had a poll some time ago about a 300 terit map and people said they would play such a big map.

anyway, the size limits are currently under discussion so hopefully if a positive decision is reached i can get this map on the way. [-o<

I'm kinda new around here, but this map psounds like just about the best thing ever. It's hardly even risk anymore, it sounds almost like a completely new game, but I would definitely play it.

fantastic.
i completely agree more, but i am starting to doubt the feasability of a map with this size and level of detail required to make it work.

yes at this point the map is not feasible due to the size limits.
it's in the same situation as qwert's road to berlin map.
very big and impossible to make a small version.
i've toyed around making a very rough sketch and the smallest image i could come up with was still larger than the current large sized maps. :(

honestly if people don't want to play it then they don't have to...i don't see why that rule can't just go into effect

following the latest announcement on map size (read here) this map is put on vacation. hopefully map size will be discussed again when 8 player games are introduced and perhaps i'll be able to do it then.

i'd still have trouble with the size limits.

except north america all other continents have small countries in them. those small countries are the buggers that require a lot of space to be visible.

in a world 3.0 map i can make zoom boxes with those regions and put them in the oceans thus saving space but in a europe map i don't have the necessary water spae to put the zoom boxes and if i add them somewhere i get over the size limit.

Hey Dim, maybe you can reach an agreement with Lack that this map will only be available to premium members and that it will be large only. You know, an exception.

nope. maps should be free for all. even if lack came to me and said: "DiM, buddy, make world 3.0 as large as you want, make it 4000*4000px if you wish. i want to offer it to premiums only" then i'd refuse him.

Would you rather make a map for premiums only but have the site publicize (word?) speed games or keep it as is?

i don't really understand your question :?

maybe this helps.
1. maps should be free for all
2. speed games should be for premium only.
