This is more than a Revamp its a compeletly different style altogether. If you put the old map and the new map side by side you wouldnt even recognize they are from the same area.

Maybe tighter rules have to be enforced regarding ReVamps??

Please dont get me wrong there is room for this map but i think the present Canada map should be revamped in hte same style. Like you did with inchondia and keyogi did with the Middle East!!
Circus Maximus was a revamp and it looks completely different.

And as Wisse said above, the only restrictions on revamps (currently) is gameplay , names, and bonuses)

WM

As was indochina, middle east, and every other revamp besides montreal, which probably would have been if rock solid wouldn't have wanted it the way he did.

Hulmey is just being dumb.

no it's just his POV. people are going to disagree wholeheartedly on many things. I find myself on the complete opposite spectrum as other people quite a bit, but I always feel that they are just saying exactly what they think without bias. we're all quite different!

BC change with Maritimes

Ontario change with Quebec

The map: I like it. I like it a lot.

The whole problem of this "no revamp" "yes revamp" would be solved if players have a chance to view both maps during play..

it could be like

Original [small] [large]
Revamp [small] [large]

and people could just toggle between the options as they wish... that way, CC's history is preserved, and people get to choose if they want to play with the revamp or not

That's like not possible...in this case there are some changes in the gameplay...So it's impossible to make that future...if there is one person that plays original and the other has the revamp, you can't play because the gameplay is different...

what changes are there in gameplay for this map? I don't think there are any. Currently the 4way border acts like there is a block in the middle to prevent diagonal crossing. Now the visuals have been updated to make this more evident.

I'm not saying we should or shouldn't have access to older versions, but in this case I don't see any gameplay changes that prevent this option.

Sorry everyone. I know that normally I am pretty quick about updates.

I am in the process of trying to get th earth to be less blurry. That was a concern from some of the people in th thread. Once I get that done, I will post a picture of the basic map without territories. If everyones happy with the basic map background and look, I will then update the territories and we can move forward. Again sorry for the delay.

I will try to get something done by tonight.

OK here is a less blurry map. Any suggestions or issues with this. Once this is done, I will start on the territories.

The reason i want to get this done first is that there are link 18 different layers making it up. I really don't want to be changing them all each time. :(

I will adjust the cloud level around Canada once the territories are in. That way they will be there but not obscure the text or circles.

Nice one - the new one is far superior - however I preferred the mountains on the first - is that something that you added/tweaked?

my only complaint about the image is the moon in the background.

With the location of the moon and the sun, the sun is behind the moon and it should only be a crescent moon (like the tip of your fingernail). The entire moon should not be lit up.

agreed. let's see the dark side.

i like the new background a lot better. :) still not a fan of the pill shapes and the font for the territories.

Technically the earth would have a dark side too. The reason I used the entire moon was that it looked wierd only half lit up. But Once I stat in on the territories I will have a whole and half moon for everyone to see.

I am going to change the colors and the circles. The old map is there to show the difference between the new and old. I guess with all of this positive feedback on the new style, I will begin adding the territories and text.

The Taloyoak connections to the items north of it are a little unclear.

Also, are you planning on returning the P.George - Edmonton connection?
Warning: You may be reading a really old topic.
