War Fog

Blind Map option which lets you see ONLY the # of troops in the adjacent country?

I played with this setting at DominateWorld thing... it was fun.

Will the greasemonkey script get the numbers of troops you see or the whole thing?

War Fog.

You will only see troops adjacent to yours. All other troops will be invisible to you.

Yes, so you need to spead out other troop to see the world.
You could also amass a huge amount of your own troops, and hide them behind a wall of smaller troops, this would be a very interesting game!

Yes, on DominateGame, I often amass my armies in australia, then without people noticing i take asia. this would be insane on a map every1 can see, but no one has an idea whats going in asia so im getting 7 armies per turn for nothing :)

If this were to be implemented i think that it should only be after greecemonkey is on the whole server and the number of reinforcements everyone is getting is known.

The only 'greasemonkey-esque' updates planned are card counts, sortable list columns, and status indicators. The 'strength' factors, and how many armies a player is getting per turn will have to be calculated by the user, or of course you can use the greasemonkey for that feature.

+1 this idea. There's an old PBEM game called Medieval War I used to play that had this, and it was great.

Wait, would the game log info still be available? Like how many troops a person is deploying or fortifying in an area that you can't see?

If not, what would the log display?

it could say "5 troops deployed on kamchatka"
it just wouldnt show who deployed them.
the game log could just leave out all names, but leave everything else

You would know who deployed them because you would know what order the other players took their turns in.

I think the game log should be invisible too, or customized to the player, but that's probably too much work.

Maybe it could just say the countries in alphabetical order, rather than in the actual order

This is a great idea. You wouldn't be able see to anything beyond your front lines. Makes it more realistic.

I also thought that any territories that have a massive build-up of armies could also show-up on the map for all to see (sorry don't want to complicate this any further, just a suggestion).

What does this mean? Greasemonkey is a firefox scripting engine.

Unless "greecemonkey" has something to do with Gyros. mmmmm.

if greesemonkey counts the armies deployed then u would still know ur oponent's force and it could b calculated using the log unless there is an option for a log that only shows the player wat is deployed where they can see it? complicated but that would b the ultimate fog of war
