Michael Jordan tried it twice, both times embarrassingly unsuccessfully.

Pete Sampras did it. And, like he always has, made it look easy. What Sampras pulled off that August night in 2003 at the U.S. Open is one of the most remarkable feats in sports.

He retired on top.

And now, comic boy will try to do the same.

Can he really pull it off? Time will tell.

Pilate did it. He's the only CCer ever that I can think of to leave while on top.

he was not on top, he retired at 2999 and was currently in 4th or 5th place when he did so. i know belzbub and others were higher at that time

Are you sure? I thought he was on top and stopped playing in his games and consequently lost points bringing him down from first....

yes quite sure, cause i beat him in one of his last games ever, and he was trying, he teamed with loudawg and dugcarr, he won his very last game beating rev kyle and someone on 11-09-06 in a game of dubs and teamed with phish.

eye84free and i were both higher at that time too, he was like 4th or 5th.

wow

I will be sad to see you go! In just the short time we have played together I have learned so much.

I hope you decide to come back some day. You will be missed by lots of us, those who you took points from and those who you gave points to

All the best with everything
