What kind of smarts are we talking about, book smarts, street smarts, smart in general, IQ, common sense?

All of those combined.

well, its pretty hard to nominate someone based on their posts. Contrary to popular belief, I am actually really smart, I just don't post like I am.

same here. ;) Meh, I just like acting like an idiot a lot more. It's way more fun. ;)

Yeah, to be fair I think I'll make a list of people whose intellect I hold in very high regard. My vote is still with vt, though.

In no particular order...

vtmarick
Jehan
got tonkaed
flashleg8
Riao
MR. Nate
luns101
Stopper
Huckleberryhound
CrazyAnglican

I'm sure there's more who I've forgotten to list, but whatever. You don't need me to tell you you're smart :P

One thing for me to say, I am probably not going to make it on the most intelligent. :(

my vote goes for OnlyAmbrose since someone else already nominated him?
i think i consider myself intelligent, only i have very minimal knowledge of history and moral issues (since my viewpoint is based almost completely on my personal opinion with no educated backup) and i'm too lazy to look it up and read through the orgasms of information there is on wikipedia.

I think is might be good to make it more clear that this isn't only nominating, but voting as well.

Problem fixed, I edited the rules to clear up any confusion.

i would've voted for you, guiscard, but then your nominees have me questioning you

also stopper is a good choice....and this thread is great, b/c it does reveal something about each poster's intelligence by their votes.....

too bad zaw banjito and khazalid don't frequent the clubhouse much, they are super intelligent....

Hmmm,

I'd say MeDeFe (for carrying on in-depth debates in a foreign language)

Guiscard (highly academic and logical)

Backglass (skillful use of emotional appeal-in spite of my best effort to knock him off his game plan  )

Bertros Bertros & chronus (who solidly back up their statements with citations)

OnlyAmbrose (one of the few people who appears to be equally comfortable in science, mathematics, philosophy, and theology)

luns & flasheg8 both (excellent use of humor to incite and diffuse situations alternately)

and

Skittles (for coming up with delightfully intricate ethical puzzles)

others up there: daddy1gringo, Mr. Nate, vtmarik, colossus, chronus, Heavycola.

Ooops, I forgot 2dimes........ sorry dude.

Oh oh! This is great.

I have a list. Yes, I have a list. It's really amazing.

Anyway; Guiscard, Luns, Backglass, Neutrino, CrazyAnglican (I have another question for you, by the way), VT, Flashleg, Bertros Bertros... and a whole lot more people.

i think its too subjective a question and there are too many intelligent people and thinkers to pick just one person and feel confident about it.
