Aye pay up - $20 (or £10.35, as it cost me) is next to nothing for what we get

I think that speed games are more useful for free members since a playing games faster matters more to a free member with a maximum of four games then a premium.

But beggars can't be choosers...

Can free members join private speed games?

to keep it in prespective the reason why speed games was interduce and that was try and stop deadbeat games or to lower the number of deadbeat games
to keep it only to prem will not do any thing to deadbeat games they will still be there using up all them bytes of memory being wasted and slowing down the site
if your prem you dont need speed games all you need to do is put a pw on game pick your players and tell them its an rt game

Speed Games are a wonderful perk for Premium Members, as now they don't have to actively go out and try to set up a Speed/Real Time game. They can just create it, and see if people join it.

And seriously, Freemies can still set up old style Real Time games. :)

Perhaps they should consider getting Premium Membership then? It seems reasonably priced for the content you get for a year.

andy you know i was offered a free prem but i refused it and passed it on to another member and i not the only one thats done that
but we still need to address the deadbeat problem its costing more new members to cc than that stay just think if them new members had stayed they might of got a prem on a later date

WL, we are going to continue to address deadbeats. Don't just close your mind and think now we are stopping. :P The measures we've employed with this update is just the tip of the ice berg. Keep your mind open along with you eyes! :) Stay tuned for more updates!

You see this is entirely flawed. The whole point of you not having speed games is to entice you into getting premium because a freemium member doesn't pay the bills. If we could all play speed games, more people wouldn't bother with premium because they could just play an endless string of speed games

robinj did you not read what i put down
the concept of the speed game was to rejuice the number of deadbeat games
last year we had a chat about the problem of deadbeats in whitch the idea to speed up go's between throws it was not ment to be prems only it was for across the board if your a prem you can keep out deadbeats joining the game by using a pw to game then you can have a rt game

I agree that most of what I have read talked about using it as an anti-deadbeat, but I'm guessing that lack can't afford to have a bunch of freemiums filling up the server when they aren't providing the money to get a bigger one.

Maybe they can put a limit on how many Speed games can be played in a day/week/whatever by Non-Premium members. What I want is a game that can be finished quickly. If non-premium members (this is my assumption, I can be wrong), wanted to play unlimited games then why wouldn't they buy Premium membership?

Now there's a great idea crab!
It would be great advertising too. Most new players get started, then realize that a regular game with 6 people takes 3 weeks to play, and they quit the site.
If you gave them one free speed game when they signed up, and then one per week for all free members, I think you would get a lot more regulars on the site, which would translate to more premium members.

Im sure that Lack considered the financial implications of his decision,if you consider yourself a better businessman then why not set up a rival site and introduce your fantastic idea :D

ah now there is a thinking man kingpin yup we lose more new members than that stay, less new members less prem less money for the site
all you need to do is look at how many names are reg with the site (132,721 ) and then look at how many active members there are (18,170 )
114,551 names not acounted for some are mulits and some are accounts that have gone inactive but thats only a small amount

Jesse710 wrote:This sucks Why can't speed games be for free accounts too? Speed games are not going to make people want to become a member it is going to piss off the players who have free accounts who were thinking about. Conquer club will lose customers because of this! Unlimited games, golden ranks, and private games are enough!

what customers? you aren't paying for anything

gonna have to agree here...If A Donut shop gives out free coffee, but not free donuts, im guessing the customers will boycott because they want free donuts too.

They will take the free coffee, say thank you, and buy a donut if they want one.

What a stupid analogy

If a donut shop gives out free coffee, and people refuse to take the free coffee - that's not boycotting; they're not losing customers or profit.

Well, i can never get premium. Not I dont have the money, or my parents dislike paypal, they just dont want to have the ability to create unlimited games. They want me to do other stuff....

Maybe something like "Non-premium members must have already finished at least 50 games before joining a speed game"?
