London postal area

Copyright is fine you cannot copyright facts

WC only 2 countries but does have lots of entry points It could join with EC that would stop it being too small
I could get rid of some borders and make them 1 but that could eliminate massive games of 12 players (With thanks to pedicronus)
It would be an exiting 3 player game me and my mates played it but it took 6 hours and we still didn't finish i presume for this if you did sequential you would be really sick of holders.

I think its a ready made winner.

It requires no further tweaking, all the place names are short

Maybe we would have to program larger games just for this map

Are you serious? Argh... Games with 12 people in a map with continents up to 28 countries? These continents are impossible to hold, see the number of border countries. A game in this map will never end (specially with flat rate or no cards). This map sucks a lot. However, with some good edit, it can be playable, no more.

horrible

this is possibly the WORST map idea ever,

you can try to tweak it but, I don't think it'll work

there need to be a ton less countries in each 'continent'. also there should be some sort of walls between the continents to make them easier to defend.

With cards set to escalating - this map wouldn't be a problem.

The main thing is that if you can only have 2 games on the go - You want a map thats big

I think there are just way too many countries and it's too complex to be playable. If you join some of the countries it might work.

it makes my head hurt. there's no order to it, no point. it looks like a bee hive with all the honeycombs randomly thrown in there. I would not play the map the way it currently stands.

well i have to disagree with every one else i think this game could really take off, however i seriously think that the bonus's and teritory rewards would have to have a change, just one way to put more men in play and give players a chance to actually hold one of those massive borders, but i love a challenge bring it on

I really really like this map idea, it might bomb, but I think it could take off in a big way. Yes cards are going to be less relevant, but I dont think that is a big problem, in a 3 player game you are going to be getting large amounts of armies just for the number of territories held.

ok, I suppose I am inclined to think it might not work, but I think it is definately worth a try!

Agreed. No one in there right mind would want to play this. I thought that you had gotten all of the stupid out of you when you suggested the map of the London Underground. I guess not.

I think you should overlay the underground map onto this one, as I suggested in the underground map thread.

Me and my friends are playing the bonuses are :
W = 10
WC = 4
SE = 17 > mainly for the sheer size of it
SW = 10
E = 11
EC = 5
N = 14
NW = 9

IT MAKES THE GAME GO FASTER
LACK CAN DECIDE REALLY I MEAN IF LOTS OF PEOPLE PLAY THIS then less games on the database and stuff

... Max, it is creative, but to be perfectly honest, it doesn't seem all that interesting, IMHO. I mean, the "countries" don't really represent anything I think most players would recognize as anything but a bunch of lines and colors.

... I'm not dissing your map completely, maybe some decorative graphics? It's a postal zone map, no? How about postmen with halberds or fixed bayonets on long rifles.... :lol:

What does anything represent in a map?

Its all about numbers and adjoining territories

If you have a big map with no meaningful area names who cares if you attack from siam or E15?

Its the same game. This idea was an attempt to create a map in the current situation where you can only have 2 games at once if you're not a premium member.

Yes, its a big area with loads of territories and Yes its soul less, but its no more or no less interesting than any of the new maps that have been created.

Its a ready made layout for a big game. no tweaking required - It is as you see it.

Stop dissing my ideas for huge maps. the full on Underground map is also workable as a big map.

I play RISK with my mates at the weekend. I don't know enough RISK players to get a massive new map on the go that requires 10-15 players to play it.

We can scour the world atlas's for new maps, but the world only gave us 42 territories.

Its time to look outside the box for new and varied ideas for maps.

Can you imagine the points scored for a game including 12 players?

People on this site want to win big and lose big when you're a major, captain etc.

It's just a case of raising the bar.

... Countries, cultures, civilizations...

... Hey, folks can play a map of the local sewer system if that's what they're into. Just don't think it'd be very popular, eh?

I think it looks like a 10. Can you Imagine a doubles or triples game with twelve people on this map. That would be fun. I dunno about a singles game. But doubles and trips this would be the ultimate map. Serious points on this one. Maybe Wachia could get to 2000 points before his 2000 th game. J K :wink:

ok then - Lets take the existing world map and add new bits (Sri Lanka, Hawaii, The Falklands, Phillipines & cut up further the existing continents etc.) and make a bigger map for more people.

The idea of the london postcode map wasn't for asthetic purposes, it was a ready made big map.

more people killed = more points

you can get to the top of the leaderboard by being a premium member and playing loads of games, but if your not = theres other ways

And this was one idea
