Since you didn't like my list I think you should no longer consider the ones I could find on it.
you wrote this list? i don't believe you. which makes you a liar and a fraud.
seren is not an alternate form of serena or serenity. it is welsh for 'star'. :P
i am considering discounting all the names that came in the most popular 100 though...

Well I did create it as an excel document, but I can't say I wrote it, since it is compiled from hospital records across the United States. Or was it the US census... Grr, now I can't remember.

Or even... Yorka? I still like that name.

Simonov wrote:my suggestion, (i have a friend with this name and think it's beautiful):

Marzanna, Morana or Morena is a Slavic goddess. Her exact function is unclear. She is most often believed to be a Goddess of harvest and witchcraft. She is described as a beautiful black-haired girl with extremely pale complexion.

In some medieval Christian sources such as the Mater Verborum she is compared to Hecate.

Her relationship to Mara, Goddess of death, is unclear; some sources equate the two.

In late medieval sources she becomes a Goddess of winter as well as death. Her name is based on the Slavic root mor, used in words such as "peril", "nightmare", "death" and "plague".

In mythology of East Slavs she is a goddess of fertility and protector of all female.

goddess of death? please stop this horror! no

no clue he rarely makes sense, I don't see how I'm a fraud for taking a bunch of names from somewhere else and giving it to him. :?

Just thought he might want to know what other people are naming their children.

ok that's it. no more please.
i thought that it was obvious that i was just having a laugh.
i will not be naming my child after a suggestion made on this thread.
most of the names that i have put on the front page are names that my wife and I have already short listed.
they are pretty much all welsh names. my girl will be having a welsh name.
thanks for everyone who took part just for the fun of it.
everyone that got pissed that i didn't reply to their idea, or because i gave a 'bad' reason for rejecting their idea - tough
:D

FYI rhiannon will probably be my daughters name.

bye!

i just need to find a middle name now. any ideas?
