you have dotted lines outside of the map. there are 10 rows going from strong and dense to thin and rare. well the problem is that the second row is much denser than the first row when in fact it should be the other way around. further more because it is so dense on the small version it almost looks like a continuous line.
and one more detail could you make the 4 corner squares point in towards the center?

Legend moved down a bit and I let the land show through very slightlyBad Speler wrote:Just a suggestion, but try moving the legend down a bit so it doesnt sit on top of the land in China. Otherwise I look forward...no wait, I dont look forward to playing an indochina map. Good job on the graphics though.

Well their corners already point towards the center. But if that is not what you mean then please explain. However, I am not changing them. They fit the theme of the map and I will keep them oriented the way they are.DiM wrote:and one more detail could you make the 4 corner squares point in towards the center?

Both of these points are valid issues. When I was designing the map, I wanted it to look as realistic as possible. Most maps have tons of black lettering overlapping and crossing borders. Or the maps are 24" x 36" and there is a lot more room.
I chose to make the text smaller so it would not overlap borders or other texture outside each territory. and here is the reason. If I had black text overlapping black borders, the text would be unreadable. Then I would need to have a white outer glow or stroke under the text and that would take away from the feel.
Plus looking at the actual territory names, there are not a lot of names that are too similar. I mean Mondulkiri is unique enough that it will not be confused with other names.
Does that all make sense or am I wrong?
I guess a new font could be used but this one seemed to look quite good and I am not sure a new font would get rid of the overlap issue.

I don't understand what you mean.hulmey wrote:now that i see the legend it is bugging me as well...Could you move it down so that it looks centred?
*I can't center it in the middle of the page vertically.
*I cant center in in the page horizontally.
*And I can't center the text under INDOCHINA.
The legend was designed to be right justified along the right edge and follow the contour of the land on the map. There is really not a lot of adjustment possible.
WM

bring it down abit and then to the left abit so its centred properly....By centred i mean betwen the right MAP border and land mass and also from the top down alittle off the land....
If you still dont know what im drivelling on about i can show you!!!

Neither would I. But I said I would and here are the three maps. I still like the first one the best. I don't think there is that big of a difference between the current and C to warrant a change.KEYOGI wrote:I really don't see the point in moving the legend. Everything is nicely spaced how it is and I wouldn't want to see the Gulf of Tonkin label removed.
